The prison guard unlocked my cell and grabbed me by my arm. "What are you doing?" I asked pulling at my arm. His grip on my arm was firm. He didn't answer me, which they never do around here. At the front desk the lady handed me my clothes, "Get dressed the faster you're out of here the better."
I scoffed. Well isn't she just lovely. Renee never did like me for some reason. I grabbed my clothes and headed towards the bathroom, surprisingly they didn't follow me. After I was done changing I grabbed my belongings and signed paperwork and they let me go.
Only then did I realize that I was actually free. Why did they release me? I wasn't supposed to be out until my four years were up. I was only in there for a year. Well hey I'm not complaining, the best is for me to be out and living my life.
I called myself a cab considering the fact I have no car. The cab would take twenty minutes to get here. That's fine with me.

When the taxi driver did arrive I told him to head over to Central St, where my best friend, Romero lives. When he pulled up to his house, I seen him walking out.

"Thanks man." I said handing him the money.

I turned around and Romero was shaking his head and smiling.
"Man am I glad to see you!" He said coming up and greeting me with a hug.

I chuckled. " Bro, I don't even know how I got out. I was supposed to be in there for four years!"

He shook his head. " probably the fool who left you the cash."

I looked at him confused. " What?"

He motioned for me to follow him. I head in petting Duke on the way in. Duke was Romero's Rottweiler. Big ole feller.

Romero headed toward the back room which was his room, well I'm assuming it's still his. He reaches under his bed and pulls out a big duffel bag.

We look at each other.
"The girl that dropped it off said there was about 120million dollars in there."

"A girl dropped it off?" I asked.

He nodded. " She was hot. I figured you got connections."

I shook my head. " Nah bro, but he listen erm.. I'm getting my ass out of this lousy ass town. You're welcome to come, but here take some of the money, got to look out for ya." I smile.

He smiles and hugs me. " imma miss you man, but shit I gotta stay here with my mamma, she sick."

I nod and hug him one last time.

" Yo Garrett wait!" He hollers.

I turn around. He hands me a set of keys. " take the black jeep, your fat ass ain't walking out of town."

I smile and nod.

I grab the bag off his bed and head out to the black jeep sitting in the driveway. Oh man how I loved that jeep.

I got on my phone and pulled up the map, I don't exactly know where I'm going. I wanted to get away from this crappy town and start a new life, somewhere far but not too far.

I decided to go to Oak-edge, California. It's probably better than this shitty town and I need a new start. A fresh start. Pulling out of the driveway, headed for the highway my mindset was clear. I planned on leaving my past life behind, new name and everything. I wanted a new beginning.
