Hey guys! Today I will be doing a review of season three from The Lion Guard (Complete analysis)

I'll be starting with the older kid concepts. We pretty much all know that Kion is mentally unstable during most of season three due to his scar. He starts struggling between darkness and light, as well as his own sanity.

Ono gets disabled and becomes blind. We honestly should have gotten some character development for him. Like him trying to adapt to the changes of becoming blind (partially blind).

Beshte and Bunga... haven't changed a bit lol.

I personally think that somewhere during the episode The Accidental Avalanche, Fuli realizes the extent of what was happening to her friend and tries to help him, only for him to push her away, saying that he's fine.

During the episode Marsh of Mystery, I feel that there was a lot of room for Ono to get character development. As in, maybe while he's stuck in those caverns with Makini he starts to feel useless at helping them find their way out. Maybe Makini could talk to him and tell him that he isn't useless just because he's blind.

Maybe in one of the episodes on the journey to the Tree of Life Kion might lose control again and snap. But instead of Fuli trying to calm him down or comfort him, Ono tries to sympathize with him. Kion snaps at Ono and tells him that he's blind, worthless, and useless. This would be where Fuli comes and and calms him down, but once Kion is calmed down and back in control, Ono is gone.

They find Ono in a tree nearby, muttering to himself that Kion was right. Kion feels extremely guilty at how he hurt Ono, and they all try to make Ono feel better. Ono is convinced that he's useless and blind, just like Kion said.

Maybe the whole Lion Guard could get stuck in some sort of situation and Ono helps get them out of it, proving to himself that he's not just blind and worthless.

Anyway... enough with all the Ono talk, let's move on to Kion.

As I said before, Kion is struggling between darkness and light, as well as his own sanity.

I believe the Guard (except maybe Fuli) doesn't realize the true extent of what is happening to Kion. They keep going and going to the Tree of Life with only Fuli realizing what is actually happening to Kion, trying to keep him in control and comfort him for as long as she can to help buy them time to get to the Tree of Life. Kion keeps pushing her away, only making her more concerned for both his mental state and his physical state.

Kion himself probably doesn't realize the true extent of what's happening to him before the episode Friends to the End. Heck, he almost fought Fuli when he was out of control! He almost HURT his friend on purpose. When Bunga snapped Kion out of it and made him realize what he was doing, he was horrified and ran away from them all.

I feel that Kion, as the leader of the Lion Guard after Scar, feels the need to live down the legacy of Scar. If Kion were to turn evil, he would end up following the same dark path as Scar once did. But his biggest fear isn't just turning evil and following a dark path. His biggest fear is hurting his family and friends (remember Never Roar Again?).

I personally LOVE the popular concept of Kion having nightmares that he will end up like Scar. It would really help build Kion's fear of turning to the darkside. (I really wish Ford Riley made Kion have nightmares in the show every once-in-a-while.)
