Okay, so I feel that I need to address Bramblestar's horrible behavior towards Squirrelflight in the Warrior Cats series. I've come up with a strongly backed up theory why he acts the way he does.
I like to look at things from both sides here. Bramble went through a lot of trauma and mistreatment at a very young age. He kept being judged because his father was Tigerstar (an evil cat) and almost nobody would accept him as part of the Clan. His sister, Tawnypelt, legit LEFT the Clan at a young age too. Bramblepaw had to work and work without any support from family or friends. The only support he had was from his mother, Goldenflower.
Every time a cat brought up the topic of Tigerstar, Brambleclaw had to prove time and time again that his loyalties lie with the Clan. He was haunted by the dreams of Tigerstar until he decided to join him and let him train him. Then he was made deputy at a fairly young age too. He took a great responsibility into his paws, that would become very stressful eventually. Heck, the future of ThunderClan lies in his paws! All of this stress has consequences.
Maybe Bramblestar doesn't mean to treat Squirrelflight badly, but is too stressed out with his responsibility to realize his behavior towards her. He is scarred from both the past and present. Remember, absolutely NONE of this excuses his behavior towards Squirrelflight, but is a theory for why he acts the way he does.
To sum it up, I honestly think that Bramblestar doesn't mean to treat Squirrelflight badly, but is doing so because of all the stress he's been under. It's slowly decreasing his mental health as he struggles to feed and protect his Clan from danger. Perhaps he doesn't even REALIZE the extent of his actions themselves and how he's hurting Squirrelflight mentally.
Well, that's all I have to say for now. I'll update this chapter when I think of more.
Have a nice day and never forget to...
