If the yard had been bad, the inside of the house was a circle of hell.

There were hundreds of disregarded cups and cans, broken glass, and an overwhelming amount of clothing. I knew people liked to strip and hop in the lake, but there were so many jeans and pairs of underwear that I began rethinking my dip in the cool water.

We shouldered our way through the hall and into the kitchen, where Emily was blocked off by the boy she had been flirting with for the past week. He had clearly had a few drinks, be he could still stand and talk semi-coherently, and actually, the most surprising thing was that he had so openly walked over to her and stated a conversation. He was constantly jumping up and running off whenever she had started teasing at him. I was mildly impressed.

I found the cooler near the kitchen island, pulled out a Sprite, and headed towards the back. The deck was right outside the house, but there were so many drunk teens in that area I was afraid one of them might accidentally drown another.

Instead I walked around the tree line a bit until I came across a little opening in the trees. No one was there in the sand, like I had found many a couples playing touchy-feely at past parties, so I stripped of my overalls and leggings and swapped my underwear for the swim bottom I had brought.

I threw my clothes a bit farther off the little trail where I could find them easy later, and headed out to the water.
