I can't believe I lashed out on Aaron like that, he doesn't deserve to be treated like that. I'm lost in my thoughts for a while until I hear a bang on our door, I shoot up and cautiously open the door. It's Laurens. A cheesy smile forms on my face but is turned into a frown quickly. His face is tear stained "L-Laurens what happened? Are you okay? What happened to your eye?"
"None of that matters, Aaron is at the hospital"
"WHAT? DID YOU CALL AN AMBULANCE ON HIM? Laurens he's wanted! I could've helped him!"
"He got into a coughing fit, and wouldn't stop, I was worried for him"
I grabbed all the money we had left off our counter then I walk back to Laurens with tears in my eyes. "What name did you put him as?"
"Aaron Wing"
I sigh "They're not going to take care of him, they'll turn him in, there are PLENTY of hospitals on the streets why didn't you take him to one of those?" Laurens doesn't get a chance to answer and at this point I don't want to hear from him, if he hadn't pulled me into that kiss I could have helped Aaron, this is all my fault. I burst through the hospital door panting. "I'm here to see Aaron Wing" Guards come up behind me, "Well then, you must be his sister" a cold metal chain tightens around my wrist. "Just so you don't do anything"
"Where's my brother?" I ask tears streaming down my face.
"Follow the guards"
We walk into a room labeled 'DANGEROUS! ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK'
I try to run to him but the chains hold me back. I turn to the guard with tears in my eyes, "C-can I be closer to him sir?" The guard walks me closer to him. I immediately hug him. "Aaron I'm so sorry, I should have never trusted him, I could have helped you but now I can't"
He hugs me back, "Hey, Ani it's okay, I need to be able to take care of myself, don't worry about me"
"You always tell me not to worry about you, but I do! Just accept that I care about you Aaron!" The guard pulls on the chain, "Time to go" I walk out of the room glumly but I'm not let go, instead I'm led into a room, there's a solider in there, he has black slicked back hair, and many awards on his uniform, "Tsk, tsk, tsk, Ani Wing never thought I'd see you again. I just have a few questions to ask you, please answer them truthfully or face the consequences."
"What are the consequences?"
He smirks, "I'll leave that for you to find out. First question, what is your name"
"Ani Christine Wing"
"Are you a cyborg"
"Yes" I feel a shock go through my arm as I scream in pain, "WHAT WAS THAT FOR?"
"That, is what you get for lying"
I glare at him, I'll have to control my reflexes now, "Next question, were your mother and father killed the day you were born"
"No" I do believe that they are still alive.
"Oh," he leans in way to close for comfort, "Are you loyal to the River?"
I stare straight into his eyes, "Yes" a wave of pain doesn't hit me, my lie worked.
"Good, do you have any connection with a man named Laurens, a romantic one perhaps?"
He's using my weaknesses against me, I can't stop my blush, I turn a deep cherry red, "Y-yes" I think back on our kiss, how lovely and soft his lips were, this offical's laugh snaps me back into reality, "Wonderful, how would you feel if he was here right now?"
"Uhm, scared, I don't want you to hurt him"
Two guards lead Laurens in, he looks terrible there's blood everywhere on his face.
"Every time you lie, he will get punched in the face" I try to stand up seething with rage and punch the offical, but the chains pull me back down.
He smirks, "I'm quite enjoying this, now next question, have you aided your brother in any of his criminal activity?"
"No" I hear the hilt of a gun hit Laurens and I feel a shock. I start tearing up.
"Final question, could you survive on your own?"
