Mika's pov:
"Mam students are making jokes,"
"About ?"
"Me ,they say am not a real child because I don't have a father,"
"Oh dear am sorry ok ,your father is in a better place now he left us but you still have me ok, remember you are bigger than what you think and they may have father's but are they good to them ,they see their parents fight all the time while we eat popcorns and watch a movie,"
"Hahahaha you are right can we watch a movie today,"
"Nice try kiddo ,go do your homework you still have school tomorrow we will go on one this weekend ok,"
I was walking home remembering my memories with her ,she died that weekend I never got to see the movie with her.My eyes were dropping heavy drops on my shirt , loosing a mother was devastating.
I was almost home when I saw police cars outside our house.
"What's going on ,"
I asked a police officer.Now everybody was outside peeping and gossiping.
"The woman in there was found dead , multiple stabs in her stomach,"
"She's my foster parent I gotta go in there ,"
"Wait they are removing the body right now ,will let you in afterwards ."
"I have to get in please,"
I started struggling my way in with the cops ,they kept on pushing me away and when the body bag came through the door the allowed me in. I went straight to my room .
I saw a pool of blood mixed with ash all over the place .My mothers ash ,and the money was all gone .
I ran fast to the body bag and zipped it open.
"You bitch!you destroyed the only memory I had of my late mother!"
I kept on beating and beating and beating the dead bloody body on the stretcher when two policemen came fast to stop me.
"Mother fucker ,you destroyed my life my mother's memory my cash ," I was creating a scene people started recording.I dropped down on my knees crying.
"I am glad you died you deserve death people like you deserve death I have hated you I hate you with all my life I fucking hate you!"
I kept on saying it in the middle of the streets,the body was taken the place was sealed with the crime scene tape and everyone left me there crying when finally Steph caught up to me he knelt down with me and comforted me to their house door .She then opened the door slowly ,my eyes met with her mother's.
"I said I don't want to see you with her ! .........is that blood ??am calling the cops you get in am calling the cops ,"
"Mam stop stop all this ,her foster mom was killed she has nowhere to go please mom please let her stay with us ,"
"Are you out of your mind ,you want to endanger your brother's too huh?she's not staying here at all now get her out of my doorstep,"
"Mam please,one night just one night please I bed you until she can find another place ? please mam?"
Seeing how Steph cry for me Infront of her parents I knew I had a real freind I can count on.
"One night!she leaves in the morning,"
"Thanks Mam ,"
We walked inside the house ,I saw her small twin brothers play videogames in the living room her mother cooking in the kitchen,it was a family I didn't want to break I must leave tomorrow.
We walked up the stairs to Steph's room .
"Am getting some clothes for you ,the shower is that way get yourself clean and then we talk ok hunny?"
"Thank you for real thank you,"
"Don't worry,now get in there,"
I walked in the shower ,I got off my bloody clothes and sat down in the shower I was too stressed to take a bath ,but I had to .I stood up crying,my mom's ashes were in the blood of an dead evil parent.The money I was saving all of my hard work was gone .I cried with the shower for one hour when I finally got out .
"Are you okay?"
"Nop but I feel a little better,"
"You have been through alot ,here are some clothes I will leave you dress"
I dressed up in the pjs Steph gave me and slept on the floor unknowingly.
3hrs later.
"Is she going to have dinner with us?"
"Mam?"
"Oh ok get her up then come down with her at the table,"
"Mika?wake up it's dinner time,"
I sleepishly opened my eyes,I saw a big face in front of me.
"Did I sleep?"
"Yes it's ok it's fine let's go have dinner,"
Steph helped me up and we walked down the stairs together.We sat at the table with everyone,even her father was there.
Her mom led us with a prayer.The serving spoon passed hand to hand as everyone served their food .Rice and chicken Steph served the food for me and we started eating.
Everyone was silently looking at me eat .
Twin one ,"why are you wearing our sisters clothe ,"
"Steve shut up and eat ,*
His father ordered .Then started talking to me.
"So what's your plan after tomorrow my wife has made it clear she doesn't want you here!"
"I will go to New York my freinds mom stays there ,"
"I thought your money......."
"I cut her off ,no need I have the bus fare ,"
"Ok you take care ok don't get yourself in trouble ,now let's eat ."
It was the best meal I have heard in months .We finished eating,I then helped Steph wash the dishes .
"Give me that plate ,so do you really have the money to go ,"
"Obviously no ,"
"And how will you get there,"
"I'll find a way around ,"
"Mikaaa, let my dad help you please,"
"Nononono you have already done enough please I got this ok,"
"I wish you luck for real God be with you,"
"If the social workers visit you please say you don't know where I am I was going to New York but I didn't have the transport fare ok?"
"And the police,"
"They said there car was coming back for me but they didn't so that's on them,"
"I love you Mika ,never forget that ok ,"
"I love you,and I lied to you I wasn't doing any of that work I was drug dealing that's why I went to school with you so I can't get you mixed up in all of my bad choices ,"
"You what ?!Mika that's a bad road to go through and you know it do you remember what happened to Zack he was killed live Infront of everyone they have the police on their side,"
"Relax Steph I have gone through much and that is just a cram of it ,my boss thinks we are dating,"
"When were you going to tell me all this ?"
"Probably never ,I needed the money,"
"Thanks for helping me wash the dishes don't forget your stuff when you leave tomorrow goodnight!"
"Please hear me out ,"
