Velkhana had fallen back to sleep, thinking of what Valomyr meant when he stated that a song had called him. Velkhana became puzzled trying to figure out what that song was when suddenly, a voice jolted her awake. "Hello again" Valomyr said, staring down at Velkhana with a smile. Velkhana looked up to meet Valomyr's eyes. "Oh, I believe you left to investigate that song you have mentioned." Velkhana said. "Well, I'm not one to investigate events for long." Valomyr replied. "Well, why have you come back?" Velkhana asked, wondering why he had come back. "Well, I was wondering if you would allow me to stay at your den for a while, I have a feeling I'm being followed" Valomyr said, glancing behind him. Velkhana thought about this. After some time, Velkhana nodded her head. "Very well, you are welcome to stay as long as you want." Velkhana said. "Thank you." Valomyr said, being grateful for some shelter. Velkhana breathed a sigh of relief, thankful for Valomyr's presence. After a few hours passed, Velkhana soon ran into Valomyr once again. Valomyr then asked Velkhana to join him by the mountains peak, much to Velkhana's joy. As the two flew to the mountain, Valomyr turned his head to Velkhana. "Velkhana, if I may speak?" Valomyr asked. "Permission granted" Velkhana said. "Listen, I know the two of us just met, but I would like to know more about you. You are the only elder dragon I have seen that hasn't been called by the song and I-" Valomyr said before being interrupted by Velkhana. "You think that whatever is singing could put our lives in danger."Velkhana said, finishing his sentence. Valomyr turned to Velkhana with mild surprise. "How did you know?."
Valomyr said. "I have had a few encounters with this "song" myself" Velkhana said as the two landed. "You seem to be more experienced at this than I am" Valomyr said. "Well, I did arrive here yesterday haven't I?" Velkhana said, thumping his shoulder with her right wing. "Hah-hah, very funny" Valomyr said, smiling and rolling his eyes at the same time. As the two elder dragons continued to talk to one another, they failed to notice a certain elder dragon hiding in the shadows. "Well if it isn't the little runaway..." Val said stepping out from the shadows. Velkhana and Valomyr turned around to face Val-hazak. Val chuckled as he slowly advanced. "Nergigante has been through many setbacks to find you, meaning that your little goose chase ends here." Val said, bile dripping from his jaws. Velkhana didn't bother to ask questions, as she summoned her ice armor. "You can try, but I will die before I let you kill me" Velkhana snarled, pointing the sharp end of her tail to Val-hazak. "That can be arranged" Val said as he began to charge a blast of effluvium in his throat. Valomyr saw this and leaped in front of Velkhana, using his wings to shield both him, and Velkhana. As Val blasted his effluvium at the duo, Valomyr began to weaken. Velkhana however, lept out from behind Valomyr, and jabbed the end of her tail through Val's chest. Val simply laughed. "You must realize that I am already dead, right?" Val said as he slashed Velkhana's snout, drawing blood. Valomyr used the wind to his advantage, knocking Val off his feet. Val clambered back to his feet, and pounced at Valomyr, clawing at his face. Velkhana whirled around and slammed her tail into Val, knocking him away from her friend. "You just don't know when to quit, do you?" Val said as bile dripped from his throat. "We can do this all day Val" Valomyr said, growling. Suddenly, Valomyr had an idea. "Velkhana, Use your ice breath on one of my wind tornados!" Valomyr shouted. "What good will that do?" Velkhana shouted back. "Trust me!" Valomyr yelled. Velkhana began to charge up her ice breath, just as Val began to send out another wind tornado. As Velkhana fired her ice breath at the tornado, Valomyr used his wings to push the tornado at Val-hazak. Val blinked at the oncoming snowstorm that was heading in his direction. "By the sapphire star, why this?" Val said as he became engulfed in the storm. The snowstorm sent Val flying off of the mountain, with Val screaming the entire way down. The two stood still, breathing heavily. "Velkhana, are you alright?" Valomyr asked, worry coating his voice. "Apart from the gash on my snout, no fatal injuries." Velkhana said. "Oh, thank goodness, I would never forgive myself if my partner was killed" Valomyr said. "I'm touched, really. But don't worry to much about me Valomyr, I can take care of myself just fine." Velkhana said. As the two elder dragons left the mountain, they now shared a strong bond with each other, one that would last for as long as they lived.

Nergigante was tearing into a popo that he had killed, when suddenly, he heard Val land on the ground in front of him with a loud and sickening smack. Nergigante rushed over to investigate. "Good lord, are you ok?" Nergigante asked. "Urrrrrgh" Val said, groaning In pain. Nergigante rolled his eyes and dragged Val into the cave they both shared. "Just breath slowly, you will not hyperventilate that way." Nergigante said. "Everything hurts...." Val said, in pain. Nergigante glared at the mountain that Val had fallen from. Now, more than anything, he wanted to make Velkhana suffer. Then, Nergigante heard singing. He then witnessed a flock of legiana fly over him, out to sea. Nergigante wondered where they were going, and why they were responding to the song. Nergigante would need to figure this out soon, because far, far away, on an isle lost in time, something had begun to stir.
