Kla's cheeks were starting to hurt. He had to keep a constant smile on his face as he was meeting important people that he will later work with.
For the life of him, he couldn't concentrate on the conversation in front of him. His mind was filled with Techno.
As he turned his head he saw three new people enter their home. His mother held the gathering at his family home. She believed that their house was big enough to hold a gathering like this, which it was but Kla was having a hard time keeping track of all the people here.
Kla knew the new comers. "Am so happy to have made it today... Very beautiful home..."
It was Pam and her parents.
Pam had a big smile on her face along with a beautiful pink dress on... She looked stunning...
Kla happily gave her a hug. "You look amazing Pam..." Kla said to her as he moved his body away.
A quick blush went over her face before she spoke. "Thanks... You look good too hey... I never thought I'd see you in a suit and tie."
Kla looked at himself for a second. He had to come to terms with this style of dressing.
"Ahh Young Kengkla. Finally get to see you this year. All I know about you is what my daughter told me and my friend over here."
Kla took a big step away from Pam and towards her father. "Nice to meet you too Sir..."
The handsome man took Kla's hand in his but held it tight. "What Sir nonsense... Just call me dad..."
"....."
Kla let a half hearted smile go. Pam's mother stepped aside to look for Kla's mother.
"Dad, your embarrassing me..." Pam said to her father.
"What nonsense is that? Why should you be embarrassed?"
Pam rolled her eyes, her dad quickly for got off the matter.
"Kengkla... Me and your father have been talking. I hear that you will be entering our work field sooner then I thought."
Kla fixed his jacket, he knew this was going to be one of the topics spoken.
"Ahh, yes. I think it would be a waste of time if I delay the process. It would have happened sooner or later anyway."Pam's dad had a big grin on his face. "Okay okay. I don't want to talk about this now. Let's talk after the party."
Kla nodded his head and watched the older man walk towards different people.
At that moment, Kla was not occupied. He walked around for a minute or two before finding an area vacant of people. He pulled his phone out and quickly called Techno.
To his disappointment. The call sent him straight to voice mail. Not this again...
"Kla?..."
Kla turned around to see Pam standing behind him.
"What are you doing here?"
Kla put his phone away.
"Just wanted to make a call but it seems to not be going through..."
She let her confused face fall.
"Well there are a few more people you need to meet so let's go..."

"I hope you enjoyed the party..."
Kla's mother said while sitting down next to her husband. She was proud of how the event unfolded."It was enjoyable..." Pam's mother said with a smile. "You need to help me later when I hold a large event myself."
"Definitely..."
Kla sat next to Pam while her parents sat across from them. Everyone else left, leaving only the two small families.
"Kengkla... Am very happy with your demeanour today... You impressed a lot of people. Your development is impeccable..."
This came from the woman who gave birth to him.
"Ahh Yes, the reason I came here. Kengkla... I was hoping to tell you another day but anyway."
Pam's dad spoke. "I have a project that Pam is overtaking at the building... I know that you had some experience with this kind of topic so would you mind doing the project with her?"
The room went silent.
Kla could feel his mother's eyes on him.
Oh how he wished to be with Techno.
"Of course... It would be a learning experience adding on to my practice."
Loud clapping filled the room.
"These two... Perfect for each other, don't you think?"
Kla froze, he quickly looked at Pam.
She looked guilty.Only with her eyes she told him Am so sorry...
