bad days

chase had recently been struggling with his mental health. he didn't want to worry maddie though, so he never said anything to her. but she could tell something was up. maddie was on the beanbag scrolling through instagram while chase was laying down on his couch, staring at the ceiling.

"hey baby, what's wrong?"

chase didn't respond. he was too deep in his thoughts to realize she was asking him a question.

"chase." she repeated

chase suddenly snapped out of his thoughts.

"oh hey what's up?"

"are you alright? you've been acting kind of off these past couple of days" maddie said with a slightly worried tone.

chase didn't really like talking about his mental health problems. he thought it made him seem weak.

"yeah i'm fine" he replied in a simple tone.

"are you sure?" maddie asks again

"i said im fine mads stop asking" chase replies in an annoyed tone.

maddie looked taken aback. she put on her shoes, grabbed her keys and started walking towards the door.

"where are you going?"

"home. i'm gonna give you some space." mads said in a slightly annoyed voice.

"mads don- " he started but was interrupted with the sound of the door closing.

"shit!" he yelled, throwing a pillow across the room.

chase felt horrible. he didn't mean to make maddie upset but his emotions got the worst of him. meanwhile, maddie texted rudy and drew to see if they new anything as to why chase was acting weird.

after a couple hours, chase decided that he should go talk to her after his little outburst on her. he walked to her apartment, and unlocked her door because they gave each other keys to their apartments.

"mads, are you home?"

"yeah, i'm in my room" she softly yelled so she could hear him.

he walked to her room and stood in the doorframe.

"hey" he softly told her.

"hey"

he walked over to her and sat at the corner of her bed.

"look mads im sorry i was acting like an asshole earlier. i know you were just trying to help and i shouldn't have taken my emotions out on you. i've just been feeling stressed with work and stuff and my mental health isn't good right now and-"

"chase, baby it's okay, i knew you weren't ready to talk but i still asked. but you do know you can always talk to me right? you don't have to feel embarrassed to talk to me about how your feeling. i'm here for you i hope you know that."

" i know and i'm sorry"

"you have nothing to be sorry about, come here" she patted the spot next to her on the bed.

he got under the covers and maddie snuggled up to him. chase and maddie lay there, talking about random things when chase leaned in a gave her a soft kiss on the lips.

"i love you so much mads" he softly told her

"i love you" she replied holding his face in her hands kissing him one last time before snuggling into him and closing her eyes.

chase admired his girlfriend for a couple minutes before kissing her head, holding her closely and going to sleep.
