boat day

it was the middle of summer in wilmington, north carolina and mads and chase were bored out of their minds. they had been staying at the pate's house for a little over two weeks with elaine, and although it was fun at first, they slowly started feeling the urge to go somewhere else. they were cuddling on the couch when chase got an idea.

"hey mads" chase called out to maddie.

"yeah"

"i just got a text from my mom and the lake house in georgia is empty. do you wanna go with elaine for the week?"

"oh my gosh yes. i've been waiting to get out of here for a week" maddie joked which earned a laugh from chase.

maddie walked to elaine's room and asked if she wanted to go, which resulted in a yes from her. she walked back to her and chase's room and packed a couple swimsuits, along with some sweatpants, shorts, and a couple shirts.

they headed out to georgia the next morning and brought some snacks with them, including cheez its and doritos. since the drive was a little over 5 hours, the three split their time behind the wheel. before arriving at the house, they decided to stop at the grocery store to get some food and snacks for the week. this resulted in maddie and elaine heading straight towards the alcoholic beverages aisle which made chase laugh.

when they arrived at the house, they went straight to their rooms to put their bags and decided to hang out and watch tv before putting on their swimsuits and going out on the lake. chase was waiting in the living room for maddie to put her swimsuit on.

"damn" chase said as he watched his girlfriend stun in her green bathing suit.

maddie smiled and blushed a little and chase walked up to her. he wrapped his arms around her waist and then kissed her slowly, but softly.

"ugh, get a room you two" elaine joked as she saw the lovebirds locking lips.

the two pulled away and laughed while elaine made a jokingly annoyed face.

after about an hour on the boat, elaine started to feel a little seasick. chase drove the boat back to the house and elaine got off. maddie and chase offered to go with her but she insisted that they stay out on the lake and enjoy some time together.

after about half an hour, chase stopped the boat on the lake so they could go swimming. before chase could go in the water, maddie ushered him back down to the seat so they can take some pictures. she took a couple, one of her leaning against his head and two kissing his cheek. when they were done taking pictures, chase quickly swept maddie off her feet and started walking towards the end of the boat.

"chase no, no, no!" maddie laughed while slightly screaming.

before, she knew it they were both submerged underwater. still holding onto him, she swam up and let go of him.

"you asshole" maddie exclaimed.

chase laughed a little before feeling maddie's arms around his neck. he got her legs and wrapped them around his waist. she leaned in and gave him a kiss on his lips.

"i love you mads" chase softly said.

"i love you too bubs" maddie replied and then gave him another kiss.

30 minutes later the lovebirds grew tired and decided to head back to the lake house and check up on elaine. they got in and found her asleep in her bedroom. mads went straight to the couch and turned on netflix. chase went to the closet to grab a blanket before walking over to the couch and laying next to maddie. 15 minutes into watching a movie chase turned to maddie.

"hey baby let's talk" chase suggested.

"about what?" maddie asked.

"about anything. life, how you're feeling, anything" chase replied.

so that's what they did. they talked. about their mental health, where they should go on their next date, all the random things you would expect those two weirdos to talk about. this is what made their relationship work. their communication was so good and that's what made them fall in love and that's what continues to make the fall harder for each other.

maddie soon grew tired and before she knew it, she was knocked out on the couch. chase admired his beautiful girlfriend before picking her up bridal style and taking her to their bedroom. he layed her down gently on the bed and tucked her in. he got in the covers and kissed her forehead before slowly drifting off into sleep.
