Skyler's P.O.V
Stiles pulled up into the school parking lot and just as we were about to get out of the jeep I got a text.
From Isaac.
We need to talk. It's about Allison.
"Hey, is everything okay?" Stiles asked and I was about to shake my head. Until I got another text from him.
Might want to come alone.
Right, because that wasn't suspicious.
"Yeah I'll catch up with you." I nodded and Stiles quickly shook his head not convinced in the slightest.
He wasn't even willing to leave my side.
"No. Unfortunately I've known you too long to know when you lie. What's up?" He stood next to me genuinely concerned.
Did he just say unfortunately?
"Stiles just go to the god-damn recital. Scott's probably wondering where we are."
"Sky, since when do you keep secrets? Whose texting you? Your secret boyfriend?" Stiles taunted and I laughed keeping a tight grip on my phone.
"Yeah right. Believe it or not you're sadly stuck to me."
I tried shrugging him off but he quickly grabbed my hand pulling me back and grabbed my phone. He thought he was being funny until he saw the person who actually messaged me.
I knew he wasn't exactly Isaac's friend but his face didn't need to drop that much.
"Hey! That's my phone! Stiles!"
"You know who you're with," he laughed, but the joke slowly died on his lips as he stared down at my phone. "Isaac? Why's Isaac texting you?"
"One thing I'd also like to know," I jump high enough to snatch the phone from him.
The smile I was trying to find had died along with every funny bone in his body as his eyes searched mine for an answer.
What was he digging for? I didn't have much to give.
"Stiles?"
"Sky," he paused staring down at my phone like it was his number one enemy. "I'm going to ask you something. And you can't kill me for it."
"Tempting but okay..." my heart was beating incredibly faster than it usually would.
I hate this ominous feeling of something bad that's about to happen. But we just got somewhere good. We managed to make it a step forward. It's a win.
I need this win to last.
"Are you hiding something from me?"
He's known me his entire life. How could I be hiding something from him? I would never do that. "No."
"Okay," he nodded not sounding completely satisfied with that answer. Then he glanced back at my phone.
"Stiles?" I further questioned, immensely confused. "What's wrong?"
"You do this thing," he muttered, and if it weren't so quiet outside I swear I wouldn't be able to hear the words that left his mouth. "You always like suck in a sharp breath when you're hiding something. And your brows tic."
"I'm not..." the lie died on my lips.
I just suspected one of my only family members was a serial killer sacrificing people. But that wasn't just my problem. It wasn't my secret.
