Bonding Elements

Fon caught the slight body of the Sky as he fell. They couldn't give the boy the chance of escaping, not when their meeting had been mere accident. He saw Reborn tip his fedora farther forward to block his darkening eyes as the others landed lightly beside the two men in the field. The six of them had merely hoped to find a clue to their mysterious Sky within the ruins of the wasted lab. They were curious and when the Arcobaleno were curious they would ferret out any answers they wanted. Hunt down any lead without care.

It had been Skull who noticed the young male exit the building and hide among the trees. Reborn had quickly taken point with Fon, believing one of the Estraneo had managed to escape through trickery. Only on closer inspection had the felt the tightly concealed Sky flames. Flames that were screaming, wailing with horrible grief and sorrow. Ones they recognized from the destruction of the cursed pacifiers.

Their Sky.

Their Ghost.

Theirs.

They were all rather possessive individuals and the sight of the Sky they had been only curious about at first, looking like death warmed over twice, left them with a strong protective feeling. The bond clicked immediately after. After all, the brunette, even with his flames suppressed, practically leaked the feeling of Home and Right.

A true bond.

All eyes focused on the pale brunette within the storms arms. He was tiny compared to them. Fragile looking with his thin build and obviously malnourished. There were no signs that the boy was older than his teens, let alone that he had just murdered an entire family single handed. His clothes were torn, but otherwise clean. Impressive if they had to say a word.

His hair was a shade of hickory and, from the short glimpse he had caught of the boy's eyes, his eye color was an almost amber orange. Brilliant and shining but also something to be weary of. Such eyes were the sign of one who was in Dying Will Mode often and had been stained with the colors of their flames. This usually occurred only with the strongest and purest of Flame users.

He wondered what the boy's usual eye color was. probably something beautiful if his evident mixed heritage was any sign. His Asian features highlighted by European touches.

"He looks so innocent. Almost like an angel," Skull stated in an awed tone. Fon couldn't help but agree.

"However, we know for a fact he is not. Do not underestimate him for his looks, idiot," came Verde's monotone response. He sounded like he was simply stating the weather which caused Fon to raise his brow in question.

"Fon is correct, however we are hardly innocents ourselves," came the near whisper of Viper. Fon nodded in agreement. None in the mafia could remain pure for long.

"Still, he's hell a cute, kora!" Came Collenelo's response. Again, Fon was quick to agree.

A gun cocked loudly, "shut up the lot of you. We've found the boy after so long out of mere luck. He is no innocent and that is for the better. We should proceed back to the mansion before he wakes up." The words were spoken with a cool deadliness from none other than Reborn. Fon was left to sigh at his high handedness.

"I agree with Reborn. If the boy had not been so tired from his last fight he would not have lost consciousness so quickly or easily," Fon stated as he could tell a war of words would begin, possibly just an all out war if he was honest with himself, if he left Reborn's statement stand alone.

Verde tsked, Colonello looked put out, Viper merely nodded, Reborn smirked in triumph, and Skull nodded in acceptance. Skull only acted like an idiot during the time they were cursed as a distraction from the others. Now that he no longer needed to pretend, the man was slowly losing his mask. The loudness had quieted and much of the jewelry had been toned down. Hopefully with their newly chosen Sky the Cloud would return to floating freely.

He himself was feeling much more like himself in the younger boys presence. Having a home to return to, someone that would hopefully accept him fully upon waking, was calming to think of. The raging storm had been turned to an ice storm for far to long, this new warmth was melting the snow and ice within quickly. He knew the others were feeling similar effects even if they were hiding it.

They all still felt wary of the Sky.

Unsurprising, the boy was not met in the most conventional way nor was the bond a chosen one. The fact he had been running and hiding from them for so long was also concerning. Yet, Fon couldn't help but feel a connection and need for the boy. One that led him to believe that the loss of the boy could mean the loss of his own sanity.

The question of why his mate's mark was warming in the brunette's presence was also yet to be answered.

Hello again!

Wow, I'm so glad people like this story! Honestly I was worried it might be a bit boring. :)

Small warning, I am working and as such do not have a lot of free time on my hands. I will update when ever I am able, but 40 hour weeks lead to me wanting to curl up and sleep most days, lol! ;)

In other words, updates will be slow but they will continue. Please forgive me this selfishness!

I hope you all stay safe during this time of strife!

See ya next time!
