Heyy pals,

I hope you're all keeping safe and well. Sorry about the unreliable updating of this story, I had an idea about what I wanted to do with it but it is harder to execute than I thought it would be. Thanks for being so patient and shout out to @megodaego for giving me the kick up the arse that I needed to keep going with this story. I don't know you lovely but I owe you one!

And on a completely unrelated (but always valid) note, Fuck the Grammys.

Annnywayyyy, here ya go

Love E x

Liv wasn't as shocked as she should have been to find Steve waiting for her when she got back to her house. He was dangling keys above Charlie, keeping the baby amused as the pair of them waiting for her in the living room.

"You're not Steve," she announced, greeting her baby boy immediately before addressing the man before them.

"I'm not the Steve you know." he corrected and in a second she had a gun pointed at his head. "Liv, you know I'm not lying. You allowed me to pick Charlie up from Nursery, you wouldn't have done that if you didn't trust me."

"Who are you?" She demanded. Why would he show up today of all days? If he was Steve, he would have known better.

"I'm the man who can take you to Bucky." he deadpanned.

Steve caught her off guard enough to get to his feet whilst she regained her breath, getting the gun from her as he did.

"James' dead." Liv refuted defiantly, although the words sounded as though there was acid in her mouth as she spoke.

"He's not. Hydra has him. I don't know where right now though." Her eyes narrowed with this new information.

"How are you going to get him back to us then?" Her suspicious tone gave away to Steve that her faith in him was diminishing.

"I'm not."

"You just said-,"

"You're going to him." Steve corrected, there was a smugness to his expression and a confidence that can't be faked.

Liv paused, thinking deeply. In her gut, she trusted him, but her head was screaming at her to run for the hills. Her husband had fallen from a high-speed train down a mountain somewhere deep in the Alps. No air, radiation or ground recon had been able to find any trace of him. There wasn't even a body to bury.

"You said you don't know where he is." She argued for the sake of it.

"But I know where he'll be."

"Where's that?"

"New York,"

"When?"

"June,"

"How do you know that?"

"Because I was there. Because a lot happened between this moment and the moment I left, but the gist of it is I send you and Charlie to him but there are conditions."
