A/N: Hey guys!! I just wanted y'all to know how much you mean to me. I love you and thank you for reading this. It makes me so happy to know people are reading the things that I made. I wanted to get y'all Chapter 3 faster than chapter 2 so without further ado, here is chapter 3.
My throat felt dry, why was I going through this again? I looked around the room amazed. It quite fascinating, a place to literally change someone. I sit down in the chair Miles offered me. I look at him in wonder.
"This is so crazy. How many people do you help go undercover?" Miles laughed and pulled a chair in front of me to sit on.
"A lot, although many were not very pretty transformations." I nod and look at the man who is going to turn me into a heartless woman with nothing to lose.
"So we already have figured out some details about how you should look, Cara," Miles said walking around me. "Chop the hair, dye it blond, some blue eye contacts..." Miles continued walking around me in circles listing off all the different things they'd do to me. I just nod and tune out. When he's finally done, Miles leads me to the hair salon station.
"Hey, Bart! Cara is here!" Miles yelled in a speaker. A second later a short man with brown hair with a perm and bright blue eyes. He was chewing a piece of gum and blew a bubble as he comes in front of me.
"Hello, doll. I'm Bart, I'm going to do your hair, hon." I nod smiling at him, he was sweet. He grabbed a step stool and dragged it behind me, he climbed up the ladder and gasped as he touched my hair.
"Oh hon, I'm so sorry for choppin a beauty like this." He made sniffing sounds and sighed. "Oh well, guess we better get started." I giggled at his pouty voice and he grinned. He washed my hair and cut it to my shoulders. Then he started to work on the color. He began to bleach my hair and we had to wait a while as he worked on my hair. When he was done I had already looked different. My long midnight black hair that usually went to my mid-back was now shoulder-length blonde hair. He wasn't done though, he began adding highlights to my hair and I had a blonde and brown mix.
After my hair had been changed Miles handed me two contacts. I put them in and away went my green eyes, concealed by a flimsy material. Blinking a few ties to get in the right place, I go towards a mirror and gasp. I look completely different, but even I know this isn't good enough for huge drug lords. I knew we would have to do some more extensive things.
Miles nods as he looks at me, and seems pleased. "Burt you did a good job on her." Burt nods and seems pleased with himself.
The rest of the day is working on my life story and they had me recite it over and over until I got it right.
"My name is Nicole Smith. My parents died in a car accident when I was 5 years old, I was put into foster care, I was adopted by a mini crime boss, who sold drugs to keep her family going. Once I was 10, they taught me how to do mini crimes; like pickpocketing." I scrunched up my eyebrows trying to remember the rest. "When I was 15, my adoptive mom brought me into the world of drugs and underground fighting. I held some matches and it became really big. I did drug deals and even sometimes managed to do armory trading. I'm here looking for a business with Pablo. Our resources alone are great, but together... California's finest won't be able to stop us." I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. As I look around I see Miles shaking his head as he tries to contain a laugh. Sophia, the woman who is working on my background was the one who had given me the backstory. Apparently, she had a flair for dramatic and traumatizing stories. I sighed.
"Sophia, honey I love you and you are amazing at making people's lives seem as though they actually happened..." Miles began to say back and forth between me and Sophia. "But, this story will not work. It's too... story-like. It just won't do for Car- I mean Nicole here. She needs something simple, but not to simple to cause suspicion but the orphan crime lord seems a bit too unnatural to happen." Miles says looking at Sophia, who looks like her heart has been crushed. "Oh Miles, you're right," Sophia glances at me and sighs. "Oh, dear. I'm so sorry Nicole. We spent all day getting you to get your story right and now we have to change it." I shrug and wave her off.
"I'm not undercover yet, so why do you all keep calling me Nicole and not Cara?" I asked looking at my team. Miles smiled and walked closer to me, letting me catch a smell of his cologne, and I inhale in the delicious scent. Mmm. Cinnamon with an earthy undertone. "Because we can never be to careful. We can't have any slip-ups in the field." I nod and smile at him, he smiles back before turning back to Sophia.
"Soph, we need a new background for Nicole and fast. We got to get her out in the field ASAP." He instructs her, Sophia nods and rushes off to her computer and starts typing away. He turns to me and puts his hands in his pants. "Nicole, do you have any ideas for your background?" He inquired tilting his head at me. I'm taken back momentarily, surprised he asked for my thoughts.
"I was thinking along the lines of one of my family members was a small-time drug dealer and got in some trouble and now I'm trying to keep my family safe. That way if anyone asks questions I can have an excuse as to why I withhold my family's name and such." He nods and I hear a squeal. Sophia bolts out of her station and smiles at me.
"That's a perfect story! Oh, Miles, I know it's still a bit cliche but it works with her, don't ya think? She has that 'I'll do anything to protect my family no matter the cost' look, don't you think?" Miles looks between me and Sophia before nodding and smiling.
"Nicole Smith looks like we got your background story."
A/N: Hi guys! Sorry it took so long to update, kind of busy. But what do you think??? What do you think about her background story? About the characters? Anyone who you would like to "cast" as the characters? Put your opinions in the comments!!!
