A/N: Oh thank god, it's a normal chapter. I'm a pretty good writer with good grammar, spelling, and vocabulary so the 'dieary' entry was hell for me😓 It also sucked because my phone kept correcting it. One of the times I hate auto-correct, lol.
Anyway, this chapter is the first day of first grade. Also, I don't know the anatomy of Japanese buildings, I don't know how kids get picked up, I don't know anything along those lines. So I'm truly sorry for probably writing them wrong. Onward to the actually interesting stuff now. (°·°)

"Sweetheart, its time to wake up. You have to ready for school." I could feel my mom lightly shaking me, "No~, it's too early mommy. School can start later." She chuckled a bit, kissed my forehead, then stood up and walked somewhere. I heard her open my closet and rattle some hangars.

"Do you want to wear this on your first day?" My right eyelid opened to see that she was holding the pretty blue dress we got the other day.

I hopped up from my bed and ran over to go get it, "Ya! Ya! I do! I do!" She laughed again and handed it over to me so I could put it on.

I had mommy help me get the buttons off of my night shirt. Those were too hard. But I did the rest myself. I accidentally got my leg stuck in the sleeve somehow and fell over. I got it out while I was still rolling around on the floor and put it on properly the second time. Once I finished, I looked at my mom and said, "Ready!" She looked like she was about to die from laughter. Her eyes were watering and she was holding her stomach, "Humph, it wasn't that funny mommy."

After a little bit, she got herself together. "So Itaakari, do you want to walk to school or do you want me to drive you?" I put my hand to my chin in thought, but, to be honest, I didn't really put much thought into it.

"I want to walk with you! So then we can spend more time together before I start going to school everyday!" She smiled and bent down to hug me, "I love you so much, sweet girl." She held my face in her hands and gave me butterfly kisses on my cheek. It tickled and I giggled. I gave mommy butterfly kisses back and she giggled too.

She stood up to go get her sweatshirt while I checked to make sure I had everything for school. Once that was over with, we put our shoes on, held hands, and started walking towards a new world called "school."

As we neared the building we slowed down a bit to take in our surroundings. "Wow Mommy, it's so big!"

She gave a small giggle, "Oh yes," she replied, "It's very big. Just think, in a few more years you're going to go to a school even bigger than this one!"

My eyes widened and I looked at her, baffled. "Really?!" she nodded and I gasped, "Whoa..." She chuckled again at my reaction and tugged lightly on my hand.

"Come on Sweets, you don't want to be late for your first day of school, do you?"

I looked up at her and smiled, "You're right, let's go Mommy!" She hummed and started walking forward. "Do you think I'm going to get a bunch of new friends?"

She looked down at me and gave a warm smile, "Of course, who wouldn't love you? You're super sweet and very responsible. Anyone would be lucky to be your friend." She tapped my nose and we both giggled together, "Are you excited to meet your teacher?"

I sighed, "I don't know. I heard that teachers are mean, but you said they weren't too bad. So I don't know if I do wanna meet her..."

"You don't want to meet me?"

I flinched and turned my head to look at the voice. She gave a friendly smile and crouched down to meet my height, "My name is Mrs. Bingham. And you are?"

I glanced up at mommy and gestured for me to introduce myself, "I- um, my name is Itaakari. Mrs. Bingham."

The woman looked at me kindly and stood up once more. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you, Dear. I look forward to seeing you in class." She gave both of us a bow before heading off in the direction of the school.

My eyes trailed the woman for a moment before returning to look at my mother. She squeezed my hand and assured me that everything would go well today. I bravely nodded and we continued our walk to the school.

-------

The school day was short. After mom dropped me off, I went to socialize with my classmates. Many of them were a few inches taller than me I noticed, but I was prepared for this from my mom. A few thought my height was funny, and asked if it was part of my quirk. I responded with a laugh and told them that I was just shorted because I was about three years younger than them. I gained quite the unexpected reaction from the lot of them.

After learning I was that much younger they either grimaced, stopped talking to me, or a mixture of both. All of which, I find unfair. But I tolerated it nonetheless.

Since it was the first day of school, it was only a half day, used for getting to know our surroundings and what our lives would become soon.

After the final bell, I left the school and found my mom waiting for me by the gates. I excitedly waved and ran up to her, "Mommy!"

She laughed and leaned down to hug me, "How was your first day of school, Sweetheart?" She looked at me with an excited expression and I found myself smiling back at her, quickly forgetting the dejection I felt throughout the day.

"It was good! There are so many people and my classroom is really cool! The chairs are really colorful and I get to sit at seat number 6! That's my favorite number now, Mommy!" She chuckled as she patiently listened to my recollection of every minuscule detail.

The rest of our walk home was calming and content. I took a bath when I got home then mommy tucked me in to bed. I fell asleep fully and fast.
