Mommy was pretty tired today, those walks yesterday must've taken a lot out of her. I walked over to my closet only to find the outfit that she set out for me. Smiling before getting dressed.

I made sure that I had all of my books in my bag that I needed for school. Not that I had many, after all, I'm only in first grade. I put my backpack on and walked out of my room.

I should probably make some breakfast...

~~~
Pancake mix and water, not gourmet by any means, but it works. Besides, most of the goodness is in the syrup. Especially maple syrup.
That's delicious.
After I made everything I grabbed two and put them on a plate for myself. I put tinfoil over the plate that held the rest and stored them in the fridge. I found the butter and smeared a little bit on each of mine, then I poured a little bit of maple syrup over them.
I gobbled down each pancake before rinsing my plate and setting it next to the sink. The notepad and pen that mom left on the table was in my hands as I wrote a message to mom.
'Ther is pancaks in the refrigerater. I luv yu mommy, Se yu after school!'
I jumped up and slapped it on the middle of the countertop where she could see it. Then I ran to the door and put my shoes on quickly.
Warm air came rushing into my face as I opened the door. It locked behind me when I walked out.
We don't live that far from the school, that's why walking is an option. It wasn't on purpose though, just a coincidence.
The view is really pretty too. For example, there's a humungous cherry blossom tree in the middle of a park that I'm going to start passing everyday on my way to school.
'It's a new day!'
I started coming up on the school's entrance. My eyes move to gaze at a group of students from my homeroom. I gave a bright smile and bolted towards them, "Hi guys!" A couple of them glanced my way before returning to their conversations.
The failed interaction caused my smile to fade and I scrunched up my nose. I don't get it, I'm only 3 years younger than them, why don't they want to talk to me? I continued to talk, trying to gauge some sort of conversation. "What do you think we'll be doing today?"
The tallest one turned to face me with an angry look on his face, "Go away. We don't want to talk to you." 'Why is he so mean? I didn't do anything to him.' I glanced around to peer at the whole group, they were nodding and saying, "Ya." Right along with him.
I scrunched up my nose in confusion, "But, why not? We're in the same class after all." I heard a few snickers, as if it was something obvious.
"Don't you get it? You're a baby and we're the older kids. There's a big difference, and we can't have you thinking you're just as good as us, that would be mean."
I slowly nodded my head in understanding, "Ooooh, I see. So this has to do with your guy's pride. That's okay then, mommy told me the best thing to do in this situation is to just leave it be." I bowed my head down and gave a quick apology, "I'll get out of your way then. See you in class." I skipped away, leaving a bunch of baffled first graders in my leave.
"Hi Mrs. Bingham!" I looked towards the older woman and gave a bright smile. She jumped a bit and turned to look at me, "Oh! Good morning Itaakari! You're quite early!" I giggled a little bit, "Ya, I guess so. I wanted to know if you needed any help with anything before the day really starts!"
