"That's the stupidest idea I've ever heard."

I huffed and glared at Mark. I told him about the plan and he proceeded to laugh in my face. Fucker.

"Why in the hell would I let Harry work with you on this case." Mark laughed harshly.

I pushed my curls back off my shoulders and glared daggers at Mark.

"Why the hell not?"

"You're joking, right?"

I groaned and crossed my arms. All I needed was Mark's okay on the idea and I was good to go. The only problem being that Mark was an asshole.

"Please Mark," I was practically begging now. "Harry is vital to solving this case, with him we'll have access to new information. You've read his available records, he's good and that's what we need."

"Ronnie, he's dangerous." Mark warned. "If you had finished reading his report you would understand that."

"Well, if you'd let me finish the report I would know that." I spit back.

He frowned at me, opening the top drawer of his desk and pulling out a pack if gum. He popped a piece in his mouth before tossing one to me.

"Hey," I pouted. "I was looking for gum earlier."

"That's exactly why I hid it."

I unwrapped the gum and popped it into my own mouth. Mark pulled out another folder and tossed it across the desk.

"Review this and tell me if you still wanna work with him."

I sat back on the steps where I first met Harry, reviewing his case file.
It was impressive, he was a young genius with many skills.

I scanned though each page, or the few pages of information we actually had on him.

"Not gonna find much in there."

Immediately I could tell that it was Harry. His voice was deep and thickly accented as if he had never even left England.

"Why'd you disappear?"

I didn't turn around as I spoke to Harry. I heard him crouch down next to me and join me on the steps but I kept my attention on the file.

"It's easier." He replied quietly.

"How is it easier? You can't have a phone, or a house, or a-"

"Never mind." Harry cut me off.

He leaned in closer to me, his eyes scanning over the folder.

"That's such an old photo of me." He remarked distastefully.

I laughed because it wasn't exactly the best photo of him. He had to be about
eighteen or nineteen in the photo, his hair short and extremely curly. He wasn't even looking at the camera but instead staring off to the side.

"I think you look cute." I complimented.

Harry rolled his eyes and took the folder from my hand, flipping through the few pages that were included.

"Why did you get dishonorably discharged?" I asked.

Harry seemed to shut down then immediately right then and there. His body stiffened, him looking up in front of us.

"I don't like to talk about my past." He said quietly, a slight harshness edging in his voice.

I nodded quickly, not wanting to press him any farther and potentially lose my opportunity of having him help me solve the case. I closed the file, standing up.
