It was your first day of school—specifically Fukurodani Academy. The wind flowed through you (h/l) (h/c) hair as you walked down the neighborhood. The trees were the bright colours of autumn, you admired them dreamily—if only that was the case.
You woke up at 7:20 am. Great, you were already late and you obviously wouldn't make it to school on time. You quickly washed your face, changed and brushed your teeth. You started getting a quick breakfast ready but then your eyes caught your watch. Already 8:00 am.
"Shoot," You hissed as you dropped the carton of milk as you left it to spill but at the moment you couldn't care less. You opened the door and you started running.
"At least the weather isn't too bad-" You said to yourself. It started to rain, heavily. You put your bag over your head and nodded to yourself, determined you'd reach school on time. "I guess I spoke too soon,"
You sprinted on the side walk and finally reached school—but you were 30 minutes early.
You were going to scream.
"What the fu-"
"Hello?" A gentle voice said. You looked around but you saw no one. You finally turned around and bumped your head into someone's chest. You looked up and you had to blink twice.
Is that an angel?
He tilted his head and raised his eyebrow. You finally got backed into your senses and quickly bowed.
"S-Sorry," You squeezed your eyes shut ready for him to insult you for being so oblivious. Instead he just patted your head—with a straight face, it felt kind of awkward.
I guess he's more of a touchy person.
You lifted your head and smiled wearily at him.
"So...?" You said, asking for his name.
"Keiji Akaashi." He said, not moving a muscle as he spoke.
"Akaashi-San—"
"Oh, no need," He said. You were confused. "I'm a first year so I guess you could address me as 'kun'."
"Really? You seemed older because you're so tall," You said with a goofy smile. He smiled a tiny bit.
(ALERT ALERT THE ANGEL BOY IS SMILING IM GONNA DIE OF HAPPINESS)"So I was going to ask you why you came so early?" You said furrowing your eyebrows.
He hesitated a bit. Why was he being so frank with a stranger? He didn't want to seem rude so he chose to respond respectfully."I've always came to school early in middle school, to practice volleyball. I would be at the gym right now but I don't know where it is." He sighed. "Even if I knew where it was, I wouldn't be able to open it with out any keys."
Oh, he played volleyball.
You've tried playing volleyball before but you sucked at aiming so you gave up after some time.
"That's cool! I only came early because, well, I'm bad with keeping track of time." You smiled shyly. Just as he was about to open his mouth, the doors bursted open.
"Hey, Hey, Hey!" A loud voice yelled, making you're eyes sparkle and Akaashi's as wide as saucers.
"KOTO-CHAN!" You said while jumping on him, which he wasn't ready for.
"(n/n)-chan?" He said, almost like a question.
You and Bokuto have been friends for almost 10 years because you guys were neighbours and your dad would teach him volleyball—sometimes you would join them. Just because he was older than you, that didn't stop him from being your best friend. You didn't tell him that you were going to Fukurodani and you wanted to surprise him, and it looked like you did.
