THERE WAS NEVER a time, as far as she could recall when she would linger until the end of an assembly scrutinizing tactics and declaring the mournful massacre of decades of underlings without finding it banal.

She had profoundly preferred to examine the same tapestry in the same museum every day for a year rather than to hear the arguments of the disagreeing side of the amalgamated ghouls of Aogiri Tree. It was far more therapeutic than having to hear the same disputes.

(Y/N) had found herself standing in the vantage of the highest floor of their headquarters after an hour or two of long unnecessary discussions. Her nails were dug deep into her own skin as her right hand extended to grip her left arm, and the same the other way around.

She breathed in deeply, and coughed out the air afterward, curling her hand into a small ball before covering her lips with it. She furrowed her eyebrows before a bitter expression washed her face wholly.

She knew herself well she wouldn't usually get much absorbed with matters that didn't really quite involve her name, but this one had struck her differently. Perhaps an hour, or two, or three would shake it off, but it just so happened it wasn't the same for this one. She closed her eyes, and she made the cooling breeze embrace her entirely, playfully picking her own nail and throwing little puffs at the (h/c) hair falling on her face.

" FUCK!"

(Y/N) had turned her back to look at the three befuddled, drunken men. She glanced down at her alcohol-stained sneakers and stared at them.

" WHAT DID YOU DO?!"

She clicked her tongue, recollecting her thoughts. She was walking within a hidden alleyway, one citizens knew perfectly well, where illicit drugs were sold and digested and one where clandestine bars with the finest wine and champagne were collected. She wasn't quite certain how and why she ended up there, but one thing she wanted to do there was to devour, and just that.

She frowned, " I walked in the very corner and gave you proper distance, and even with that you still end up bumping into me. How is it my fau-"

She had taken a step back upon realizing how one of them had carelessly swayed his arm to seize her by the collar. The second time he did it, she pulled his arm and drew him closer to her. (Y/N) had thrown a punch straight at his stomach with her balled fist that relaxed when he landed on the ground with a loud thud.

" You witch!" Another yelled, shoving up the broken glass from the floor before pointing it at her with shaky arms. A little, mousy squeak left his lips as his entire body shook in horror.

" That's right. Don't run," she scoffed, stepping on the pool of alcohol as she swept the remaining pieces of the fractured bottle away with her shoes. She stretched open her arms, grinning, " I don't even need effort to scare you. So what's the point, really?"

Her agitated words seamlessly provoked him and his entire drunk soul, so she had to effortlessly take a step back twice to avoid the swinging fragmented carafe. (Y/N) took him by the wrist and knocked the shard off his sweaty palms. It wasn't long before she used her free right hand to dim his view with a single strike in the nape.

Her attention turned to the last man standing there shivering at her figure and her faded silhouette on the rock ground beneath where he stood. He dropped his suitcase and hysterically gasped, turning his back away from her as he ran as fast as he could, as far as he could go.

Her lips parted and gave a slight insincere chuckle at the sound of his panting. Then, she lifted a little pebble from the ground and forcefully threw it at him. And when it hit him right at the back of the head with such horrifying speed and magnificent force, the man had instantly come to a stop, his eyeballs twitching and his throat clogged.
