Ariel goes from sitting at the table eating calmly to rushing to the door and putting on her shoes and jacket frantically.

"Ariel what's going on? Calm down"

"Shit where are my keys!" Ariel all but yells out while flipping over everything in Zaierra's home.

She continues this way until Jada had to literally tackle her to get her to sit down.

"Ouch Jada, what the fuck!"

"I have your keys, but you aren't getting them until you explain this outburst" Jada breathes out. Who knew Ariel would be that hard to get down.

"There's nothing to explain I just forgot about something I had to do today and panicked"

"It was so important to the point that you're shaking and look like you're on the verge of tears?" Zaierra says as she stares Ariel down, seeming like she's trying to study Ariel's body language.

Did I forget to say that Zaierra majored in Psychology?

"If I didn't know any better I'd say you're afraid of something, but you'd tell us if something was going on right?"

"Of course I would, I always tell y'all the truth but I really have to get going so please give me my keys" Ariel pounces on Jada, snatches her keys, and runs to start her car.

-

The car ride home consisted of Ariel trying not to freak out and crash. She just spent the ride talking to herself like a crazy person.

"Okay so Makena isn't home right now, she has work so I can relax before she gets home. Maybe she won't be to angry even though she left me like 40 calls."

"No Ariel you dumb fuck, obviously she's gonna be angry you told her you'll be home before 11 last night...it's 2 o'clock in the afternoon the next day."

"Maybe I can just make her dinner, she won't be as angry then." As soon as she said that she heard thunder. Almost as if it was a sign telling her that yes, Makena will be angry no matter what she does.

Before she knows it she reaches home. When she pulls up she just sits in the car for a while until she calms down. She legit has to run to the building from her car to avoid getting soaked.

She got into the building slightly wet but it's fine, water never hurt anyone.

As Ariel walks to her apartment door she thinks the first thing she should do is take out what she's going to cook for dinner and then go shower because she wasn't expecting to stay the night at Zaierra's so she definitely doesn't smell the freshest at the moment.

She opens the door, takes off her shoes and jacket and proceeds to go to the kitchen.

What she was not expecting was for Makena to be home, sitting at the kitchen island with a cup of coffee.

Ariel had to think of what day it was and why Makena would possibly be home on her work day.

"Where the fuck have you been Ariel?" Makena sneered looking Ariel up and down.

"And why haven't you answered not one of my phone calls? Did you even go to Zaierra's like you said you were? Or did you just lie to me to go be with someone else?"

Ariel immediately shakes her head no, eyes wide. She couldn't even speak, afraid. It felt like she was on the highest mountain in the world where she couldn't breathe properly. She should've paid more attention to the time, she shouldn't have drunk that much and most importantly she should've kept her phone ringer on.

"I-I"
"I-I" Makena mocks Ariel's stuttering. "Oh so now you can't speak? You spoke just fine when you told me I couldn't go with you yesterday" She says as she starts walking closer to Ariel, then she suddenly stops.

"Strip"
"W-what? Why would I do tha—"
"I said strip"

Ariel looks up at Makena, confused of her intentions. If it was anyone else Ariel wouldn't listen. If it was anyone else Ariel wouldn't be scared the way she is in this very moment. But it isn't anyone else, it's Makena, the one who can ruin her life with just a series of messages to Jada. And she has no choice but to do what she says.

She begins to undress as slowly as possible, extremely uncomfortable and cautious of Makena's watching eyes.

"Move faster" Makena snaps at her.

So she moves faster. The moment she's stark naked Makena is all over her. Telling her to move this way, move that way, turn around, lift your head up. At the same time this is happening, Ariel is on the verge of tears due to  the embarrassment of someone telling her what to while she's naked. She couldn't comprehend the point of this until—

"So whoever you were with didn't leave any marks I see...put your clothes back on."

Compared to how slowly Ariel was taking off her clothes earlier, she moved at the speed of lightning to put them back on. Thankful to have some of her dignity back in front of Makena.

"I'm gonna need you to turn back around and go outside until I say you can come back in."

"Outside? Outside where?"

"In front of building." Makena rolls her eyes as if it was the most obvious thing ever.

"B-but it's raining out there."

"Okay did I ask? Go now."

"Makena I'm really not trying to get sick, I have to go to work in a couple days."

"Oh so I see how it is Ariel, you aren't going to listen? Don't make me tell Jada—"

"NO! It's okay I'll go."

"And make sure you stay under the window so I can look down and see you, if you move there will be consequences."

Ariel gulps, nods and makes her way out the door to the front of the building. Standing in the rain looking pitiful.

-

Hours, Ariel's been in the rain for hours, still standing with her back against the concrete. Shaking and shivering, hugging herself, almost looking homeless. Very much looking like a wet dog.

Suddenly a loud sob overtook her and she covered her face with shaking hands, sliding down the wall and sitting on the bare concrete. She didn't know how much longer she could take being exposed to this rainwater.

And now she isn't just crying because of this torture she's enduring in the moment, but because of all the torture she's endured from Makena for years. Ariel is now sitting in the rain asking herself 'would it have been easier to just tell Jada the truth? Or maybe I shouldn't have been so naive, if I wasn't Makena would not know anything about my feelings and I wouldn't have to live this way.'

Her crying and questions to herself seemed endless and only God can tell you how long she was out there. She was only shook from her thoughts when she heard her name being called.

"Ariel? Ariel? What are you doing out here like this? Are you okay."

Ariel was scared stiff, that voice it belongs to someone she knows. Someone that she's known for a long time and the last person she'd want to to see her in the state that she's in at the moment.

That voice belongs to no one other than Jada.
