Chapter 1- The Secret Rapidly Promoted Executive

I had two decisions to make. Either throw down dummies or parachute down with the leader. It was a sudden opportunity provided to me at the eleventh hour. Plus, it wasn't easy to focus with the sound of the helicopter blades turning and turning outside, ready to receive me and Reginald Copperbottom. I had him in my clutches and was sure that this mission was going to end smoothly, but it took an unexpected turn.

As I have said, I have always longed for power, but I was such a fool for not thinking things through! If I throw down the dummies from the airship, I'm betraying the government, but get all the power I want. If I parachute down with Reginald, I am doing a great service to the government.

I made my decision. Parachute down with Reginald. As I was about to leap over the edge of the airship, the members realized my plot and tried to run after their leader, but it was too late as we had ready jumped off the ledge and started free falling. The members on the airship couldn't do anything about what just happened.

I activated the parachute and we gently floated down. As we were making our way to land, I whispered into Reginald's ear, "I accept. I'll come free you when the time is right. Have faith in me, Mr Copperbottom." He nodded his head in reply.

We landed in the soft sand and Charles's helicopter landed on the dunes. He and Hubert ran towards us as I held onto Reginald's hand.

Okay, let's stop here for awhile. Why did I want to pretend to hand my new leader over to the government? That was the hard way, the easy way was that we can just fly away on the airship. I have a very good reason! Maybe I will explain it later...

Please don't doubt me for it... I love him too much...

"Well done, Mr Stickmin! Without him, the Toppat Clan will eventually fall to its knees. Now, hand him over to Charlie over there. I'll see that he gets the proper justice he solely deserves."

I watched as Reginald got taken away. I trailed behind them a few seconds later being called by Hubert after watching the airship fly away until I couldn't see it anymore.

"Nice work Henry!" Charles congratulated me and patted me on the shoulder. The moment his hand touched me, I felt so guilty. But, I won't let our friendship be destroyed because of my decision.

I just wanted respect and some power, is that too much to ask for? Now that I thought about my wish I made back then, I thought that it was very selfish. I feel very disappointed in myself everytime I think about it.

Now that I sit by the seaside, I knew that Charles loved these kinds of views.

Back at government headquarters, multiple armed officers took Copperbottom into their custody and took him to a cell upstairs.

"Hey, Henry!" Charles shouted for me after he was done shutting down his helicopter's engine. "Wanna go out for dinner tonight? My treat!"

I was still distracted, but then snapped back to reality, and told Charles to message me the address of our dinner place. I wanted to spend as much time as I can with my best friend before I leave the government.

Or, can I take Charles with me?
