I hope my journey
over distant lands
and five vast seas
bears the fruit I expect.

After months of voyage
I return to my family
with bags full of
gifts and chocolates.

But when I reach
I feel my eyes are
lying to me.

I see the place
fragmented and
scattered all over
the ground.

I feel a wave of impulse
travel up my spine
My heart and the emotions
Shatter hard, immediately.

I rush through
searching in the remnants
for the leftovers
belonging to my loved ones

I have set my mind
to hunt the one
responsible for
this scale of loss.
