I sat on the hard concrete, right beside the swing set. Tears streamed down my face, I hugged my knees to my chest and curled up into as small a ball as possible. The kids from my class just ran past me, not caring that they'd broke my little heart so severely. I stared at it, shattered on the ground in front of me, glass shards that broke through my skin and made droplets of blood trickle from my palms. I cried harder, the tears that never seemed to stop. Every day it got worse, every day I wanted to run away, and find a paradise that was designed just for me.
The crunching of glass underfoot made me raise my head to see a small boy, kneeling in front of me. He gave me a small smile and stared at the glass shattered on the ground. He carefully picked each piece up and gathered them in his palm. What a peculiar boy, I thought. Once every piece of my heart had found its way into in his hand, the boy extended it to me. I blinked back my tears and clearly saw him. The half-grin that was plastered on his face, the blue hair that was falling into his eyes.
"Mum says crying means that a piece of us is hurt," He said cautiously as if trying not to scare me, "I don't like being hurt and crying, so... I don't want you to hurt." He finished with a smile. He gently grabbed my hand and tipped the shards of my heart into my bleeding palms.
That little boy sat with me for a while, we talked about all the things in the universe, such as unicorns and dragons. After a while, we decided to put my heart back together and to my surprise, it stayed together. He took me to his friends and introduced them to me, they were all really nice and offered for me to play with them. They didn't mind my messy clothes and knotty hair, they didn't mind that I didn't have the stuff the others did. After a while, I declared these eight boys as my best friends, and they laughed and called me their best friend. When we went back into class, I grabbed one of my books and wrote all their names in it.
"Woah, you're smart!" One of the boys exclaimed.
"Did you know we're pirates?" Another boy excitedly informed me, "We have a pirate ship and travel the seas for treasure!" He shouted.
"Our parents said that only some people can be pirates though," Another said solemnly, "But you can still join our crew, I guess." He added cheerily.
"I want to!" I declared and all the boys smiled at me. I looked down at the list of names and smiled, I decided that I would remember these names, forever, because they're my best friends!

Hey guys! So if some of you have been here from the start, you would know that I had written this story before. However, I've decided to make some changes and rewrite it from the start. It will be a lot better, and a lot more inclusive.
The only question I have is wondering if people would prefer a specific character that I have made myself or if you like the Y/N character where you put yourself into the story. Let me know and I'll happily accommodate!
Anyway, enjoy the story and be sure to leave me a comment or even send me a message!
