a blinding white floor

a black vacuum sky

a small vessel waits

it's been so many years

no mind to think

it's loosing its memories

no will to break

it wants out of here

no voice to cry suffering

silence

...

no

there's something there

just barely audible

flowing water?

And suddenly, the vessel's vision flooded with color.

Its Void body ached from lack of use as it sat up quickly to take in its surroundings.

The vessel was in a small cave, and there was nobody in sight. Where was The King? Or the royal retainers or guards?

It had no idea where this cave could be in Hallownest, it should try to find someone. It should find The King.

It looked around for an exit, but there didn't seem to be any. The cracked walls were laced with blue vines, though there were no doorways.

The middle of the room held a pond. A slightly blue-tinted waterfall flowed into it, and from the stream rising from the pond it looked to be hot.

The ground was the most colorful by far. thousands of light blue flowers carpeted the floor, a few tall plants growing through them.

The vessel itself was in a large round jar sitting on a raised platform. Its pure nail rested against the outside of glass.

The vessel stood up and checked itself.

It was still wearing the formal robes from the sealing...

what sealing? It couldn't remember

Regardless, it lifted its robes and reached into the Void of its body.

It retrieved a cloak and satchel, feeling a blinding ache when it tried to remember where they were from.

It stored the cloak back but put on the satchel underneath the robes. It then checked the Void some more and found its set of charms. They all seemed untouched so it put them back as well.

It finally looked up to the lid of the jar it was stuck in. It couldn't reach the top to open it, so it would have to break out. However, it didn't have enough Soul to use a spell and it couldn't slash the jar open without its nail.

So it did the only option left, it stood on one side the jar then rammed itself into the other as hard as it could.

It fell with the jar, the glass shattering on impact.

...

The vessel suddenly looked up, with what would have been awe if it had emotions...

When the jar broke, thousands of hidden butterflies erupted from the flowers on the ground and filled the air.

The vessel stood, still staring at the sight and ignoring the broken glass it stepped on. It walked into the middle of the room, falling limp into the springs.

The water was flowing around it gently, steam rising past the top of the vessel's head.

It lay half-submerged in the spring, experiencing a new sensation.

It couldn't look away from the blue fluttering sky.

This was all just so...
