Both the girls stood against the other side of the wall, listening to the brother's conversation while they played english billiards. It mostly consisted of Mycroft whining and Sherlock listening.
"This is my house, not hers, and has been since Father died. She asked for 16 years to bring Enola and Emilia up here. I gave it. And for that, I deserve to be robbed? I am not the villain here." He whined to his brother.
"Perhaps she needed the money. You clearly don't, or has the government cut your salary?"
"It's always the same, isn't it? Always the same." Mycroft said in disappointment. The maid walked in, seeing the two girls.
"We don't see each other for months, and then you blast in without a care and condemn me with your bon mots." He added on.
"Simply inquiring."
"You are judging. You are judging something for which you took no responsibility. You've never shown an interest in this family."
"I don't mean to judge."
"We have two problems, as I see it." He said to Sherlock before finishing, "One, finding a boarding school that is willing to take Enola and Emilia on so they won't be a complete failure in this world." He stated. Both the girls looked at each other in worry. "That I am in the process of solving with the help of an old friend."
"And two, finding mother. The first is my problem, the second I consider yours."
Both girls stared through the window, looking at the two old friends greet each other.
"This can't be right. I don't want to go to an all girls preppy school." Emilia whined to her sister. Enola looked at her sister with pity before backing away from the window.
"Stand tall girls" The elder said, pushing Enola's chin up and straightening Emilia's arms. "That's better."
"Waist, 24 inches, Her's, 23" She said, directing Enola and then Emilia. "Chest 33, her's, 32."
"Well that's too small." The lady said towards the girls. Emilia scoffed and got a glare directed towards her.
"They are perfectly fine." Enola told the woman.
"Hips, 35 inches, Her's 34." the seamstress told the woman.
"Oh, how disappointing." She said causing both girls to snap their heads to face her. Both their faces were covered with shock, although Enola tried better to hide hers. "We will have to use an amplifier."
