I hope you guys are enjoying so far 🥰
I changed a little something: there will be no smut in this story. Sorry but I realized that it just doesn't fit... there will be angst and all, kissing, etc. but no smut.
It doesn't fit the story, sorry if that disappoints you.

Xoxo,
Enjoy.

Watching a human child grow is definitely an interesting experience, Jeongguk found. And, since he wasn't the child's parents, he was able to watch every single detail of the child change without any other distraction— except.. the little things.

Like this one time...

"Taehyung-" The two year old baby that was climbing his dresser stopped, making a small noise in signal that he had heard someone call his name. "I would recommend you not do that." Jeongguk said, sitting back in the rocking chair in the corner of the room. Just watching the baby do something that could potentially hurt him.

Taehyung's mom was going to grab something for a moment, leaving her child alone—well not completely—for a bit. Thus giving him a chance to explore.

The two year old kept still in one of the drawers he pulled out to sit in and looked at Jeongguk. Jeongguk gave him a look, raising an eyebrow at him, saying your choice, baby.

The baby did a chubby little baby glare, somehow having so many expressions that his parents never saw, and then started climbing back down.

Early on, Jeongguk had figured out that Taehyung understood every single word he said to him, like they had some sort of mental connection. Which would make sense. But he thought it was quite amusing how Taehyung would react to him when he advised him not to do things.

Jeongguk always gave the baby his own choice, just warning him of certain things while he watched. Whether Taehyung listened to him or not was on him.

And as a baby sometimes it got difficult, since Taehyung would defy him at times—hurting himself. Jeongguk would roll his eyes and sigh, saying a "I told you so" under his breath, and then Taehyung would cry harder.

Jeongguk hated the sound of Taehyung crying. It was the worst sound he's ever heard—it physically hurt him. And, Jeongguk guessed Taehyung figured that out a while ago, since when Jeongguk would annoy him or tease him, Taehyung would cry. An awful cry that ring loud in Jeongguk's ears no matter how far away he went from him.

Little bastard.

So, those were the little things. And as Taehyung grew older and older, reaching elementary, he started speaking to Jeongguk when they were alone.

Taehyung didn't really make friends his whole childhood, keeping more to himself. Reading, drawing, etc. His mom would try to make him get out there, but Taehyung always pulled away from it. He seemed to be somewhat afraid of social encounters.. later they figured out Taehyung had social anxiety as well as chronic anxiety.

Jeongguk witnessed Taehyung's first panic attack on Taehyung's first day of elementary school. He was so afraid to go.. Jeongguk could feel it. It was a horribly uncomfortable feeling for the Guardian, and he did his best to help him.

That's what he was supposed to be doing, right?

* * *

Taehyung was curled up in a ball in the corner of his bed, holding his knees to his chest, hyperventilating and sobbing without much sound, which hurt Jeongguk more.

".. kid.." Jeongguk tried, sitting on Jeongguk's bed, a few feet away from him. "It's going to be okay, alright?"

Taehyung kept crying.
