3-Hang over

I shrieked at the sound of the alarm clock, fuck the stinging headache just had to welcome me with a "Good Morning"..... Hang over! liquor! Mia! pictures!

"no! no! no! " panic attack! when the hell did I get home? what happened last after the alcohol. Lyne was the first thing popping up to my sore brain, I scrambled up my room looking for my phone and just before I could reach for the sheets I spotted it at the other end of the bed and just before I could dial lyne's number, she'd called.

" Mia took pictures right? they are all over the internet right? oh God I'm gonna be in a lot of trouble mom's gonna kill me"i cried pacing here and there, I might not be breathing right now but I might not be breathing anyways when mom has me in a coffin

"I'm not taking a test right?" she joked, really my heart was beating as fast as 200times a minute and she was trying to joke?

"Lyne you gotta be serious please, I'm really off right now"

"well everything is in control no need to worry, I took care of everything....Last night was a heck of a party, but first you have to tell me what you and Mia were talking about" this wasn't really the time for story telling but either ways Lyne deserved to know

"Well I'd left you and harry and decide to get a snack and seat by the pool, unfortunately, I got wet-" I cringed my teeth together reminiscing the most annoying part of the story-"but then I got really mad and decided to stay far away from the pool, I got a drink from the bar and that's when Mia showed up with her mellow drama, annoying assumptions and unnecessary competitions-"

"-Obviously "lyne interrupted

"AND" i took my rightful place speaking " well she kinda challenged me to take a shot and then I got really upset and lost control" I said with a hitch of disappointment in the tone of my words

"I just knew that brat would cause nothing but trouble once she's invited. look Cloe, facts stays that you are a big treat to Mia, she literally sees you as someone that's wayyy better than her at everything so she'll always have devious plans to pull you off track. its up to you to stay strong and fight back, don't ever settle for less or prove your worth or capability she's aware she's just trying to get you vulnerable. DONT LET IT HAPPEN girl, you're much more.". Do you see why I call this incredibly awesome girl my bestfriend? she's always got my back whenever.

"what would I do without you" my eyes were clouded in tears, her speech made me cloud up in emotions, I mean I'm so lucky to have such an amazing person in my life.

"you'd get you ass kicked by loosers like Mia and completely let it roll off your back" she lightened up my mood but then I still had no clue on what happened yesterday and curiosity stung me like a bee

"Now can I know what magic you performed yesterday" I asked just to satisfy my hungry curiosity

FLASHBACK!---------- so I spotted you and Mia having a conversation at the wine bar and instincts told me things would end ugly, obviously Mia never meant well, I decided I'll keep an eye on you just incase unfortunately I had to answer to nature's call and when i'd been back I could see how light your feets where and how drowsy you looked and I knew you were definitely drunk, Mia took out her phone to take pictures before I could make a move. And almost immediately I thought of a plan, I walked up to her direction and bumped into her phone relieving it to the water. She wouldn't say anything because it was a supposed accident, she wouldn't dare anyways. i was avoiding drama and after party gossip to save you from questionable stares from people in school, we all know students of Parle Verde high are always in people's businesses. I know you might be thinking of how I got you home without having to pass through your mom but heavens helped us she slept off just in time.

Mom was back from her normal Sunday routine. she'd been one of the very few to volunteer to visit the local orphanage with gifs and varieties on Sundays. she wasn't doing it for self interests or needs but she felt peace at that and she loved it.

"Cloe! we would be going for a function at the karuna's mansion, wear something nice" she dropped off before leaving the room, I was just about the pack up for a sleep over at lyne's place, she'd suggested a few things to help out with hangovers, honestly I wasn't feeling any better but I would be too scared to leave space for suspicions I'd taken a few pain relieves and I believed I would be fine. Mom had been given a promotion a week ago which was good news considering our financial state, things had gotten to a brighter side ever since she'd started working for the karuna's, the most influential family in Las Vegas, they were Indian but had gotten citizenship in the united states and had moved to las Vegas. They had one of the most popular and developed companies in the united states, the karuna Empire, the name came with its power and blah blah blah you might probably be getting bored. Now to the spicy part of the story, mom had been working in this company for over six months and was tagged one of the very best workers, she was given a fair pay enough to assist dad in covering home and school bills, they had two kids to look after, I and Nick. Didn't mention my brother earlier? Now you know, Nick was just five, Mom and dad had a lot of school bills to pay for and with Mom's promotion ,her pay increase might just be enough. The karuna's had a lot of function, enough to expect that from rich people, throwing parties here and there. Mere workers weren't invited but now mom had a seat in a considerable position.
