Amity stared in shock. Why was Lilith, the head of the emperors coven? "Amity!" Luz shouted. When she saw what Amity was looking at, she looked nervous. "Amity! You came early. . . ." Luz said uncomfortably. "Luz, what happened?" Luz told her everything. From her face off with the emperor, to Eda almost getting petrified, and that Lilith was now covenless. With each word that came out of Luz's mouth, Amity expression went from nervous to worried out of her mind. "You faced off with the emperor!? You know my parents will never let me talk to you again, do you realize-" Amity slapped her hand over he mouth. "What do you mean you parents won't let you talk to me again?" Luz asked. Amity knew she should had kept her mouth shut. "I mean, is, they are just really careful- they have a reputation- I don't want to wreck it, GAH!" Amity shouted. "Amity, what do you mean?" Luz asked. "What I mean is, they just don't want me to hang out with. . . . what they think are criminals." Amity finished. Luz went from excited to very hurt. "You think I'm a criminal?" Luz asked quietly. "I don't think your a criminal, but my parents. . . . they do.  And they can be. . . . strict." Amity answered, ashamed of herself. She couldn't imagine what thoughts were going through Luz's head right now. "Well if your parents think that we are criminals, then leave." Luz said, clearly very hurt and upset that Amity could ever say or think such a thing. "Luz-" Amity started to say, but was interrupted. "THEN LEAVE!" Luz yelled. Tears came to Amity's eyes. She ran out the door and cried all the way home. As she entered her home, she ran all the way up to her room and started to cry harder. "Mittens?" Emira said, probably in front of Edric. "Y-you okay?" Edric asked, quietly. "Leave me alone!" Amity got up and shut the door. "Okay. . . ." Edric and Emira walked away. They were both surprisingly, actually cared about how she was feeling. They actually cared for once. Amity thought about Luz and what she thought of Amity now. She really didn't want to go to school tomorrow, and she wished that she were good at lying, because at that moment she wished she could've said she was sick.
