i smile and shut my phone off placing it into my pocket. i grab my purse and walk over to my mirror fixing any creases in my outfit.
sigh
let's hope this one goes well.
i make my way outside and my uber i had ordered just pulled into my driveway. i walk over to the backseat and sit down. "hello, where are we headed today?" the driver looks back at me flashing a small smile. "hi, here's the location" i say softly showing my phone at him. the driver nods and starts to pull out of the driveway.
i start to regret going through with this meetup, i've never had any luck in relationships but for some reason still kept hope.
not too long later we arrive at the cafe.
"thank you" i say smiling at the driver before exiting.
the cool autumn breeze flows through my hair as i walk to the entrance of the cafe. "you got this, go in and make him fall in love with you" before entering i decide to give myself a small little pep talk.
i walk into the cafe and look around trying to find my date.
"hyejin!"
i look to the direction of my name being called and i see him waving trying to get my attention. i walk over to him and sit across the table placing my bag down.
"hi! it's finally nice to meet you.. sorry for keeping you waiting."
"ah don't worry about it, it's nice to meet you too. i've been waiting for this day" he says sheepishly.
i smile at the thought of someone being excited to meet me.
"so what do you do—or are you still a college student?" he says curiously. "oh yeah i'm still in college, i'm an art major" i say.
"oh that's cool, i dropped out" he says chuckling a bit.
"oh yeah i was wondering, is lucas your birth name?" i say taking a sip of my coffee
"yeah, my parents wanted to give me foreign name for whatever reason" he says
"oh well it's a nice name, i like it" i say smiling softly and he blushes a bit.
"thank you" he says. - "will you excuse me a bit? i have to use the restroom" i say getting up.
i make my way to the ladies room checking on my hair and makeup make sure i still look as good as i did when i left. i lean on the counter smiling excitedly.
i think this one is actually going really good.
i quickly use the restroom and dry my hands off before leaving.
i walk back to the table and take a drink of my coffee i left.
"welcome back" he says smiling which i return.
he looks at me for a sec before looking back away and clears his throat. "i know this is our first time meeting but i just wanted to let you know i'm really interested in you and would love to take you out again"
yes!
"of course!" i answer a little too excitedly.
maybe i'd actually experience something real with him.
my thoughts alone got me more excited. maybe my loneliness could finally be filled thoughts of a hopeless romantic.
yawn weird.
"what're your hobbies?" he ask
"besides painting, i love photography and writing" i tell him.
"wow you're hobbies already top mine completely" he says laughing which i join a bit.
yawn why am i so tired?
as we continue talking i just continue to feel myself getting more and more tired.
"you okay?" lucas says looking concerned
"yeah i'm just getting pretty tired haha" i try laughing it off.
"do you wanna end today? i can also drive you home if you need." he says softly.
i nod "thank you, that'd be nice but i don't wanna cause you any trouble driving me home."
"don't worry, i insist" he says smiling softly

we walk to his car and he opens up his backside door.
i get into the car and place my bag down, as we start driving i feel myself falling asleep and in a couple minutes i'm out
