And Now The Lie Is Collapsing

Heyo so, um. I dislike having author notes in the chapters, but only ao3 has a separate function for it, and that's my main posting site. So if you want to check out that fic there is a lot more formatting stuff that really emphasizes this work. (Also the "keysmash" isn't a keysmash, and if you want to solve the code, it's in the author notes at the end of chapter 7 on ao3, just a heads up). Also, sorry for not posting, I've been writing essays for my government class and it's been really exhausting. And I'm converting my chapters from ao3 to this site and the formatting is different and it gets really tedious. Without further ado, here is my chapter uwu.

Bakugou stepped back and looked at his handiwork, his stomach rolling. He had tied Deku to his chair using the rope that the nerd had presumably bought to hang himself with, and moved it to the middle of the room away from anything the nerd could use to escape, not that Deku was capable of something like that. But he couldn't take any chances.

And so, the waiting began.

Bakugou consistently watched the time tick down slowly, second by second, minute by minute. Seven hours until midnight, just seven hours.

The quiet was irritating. Bakugou had recently grown to hate the silence that seemed to follow him everywhere, or at least when the damned nerd was involved. He pursed his lips and wet them, uncertainty fueling the impatience that made his heart throb. He knew nothing but the silence, the stress, the crawling under his skin.

Bakugou narrowed his eyes and tensed as his mind failed to convince his body that everything was going to work out the way it was supposed to. After this, he could let the nerd go die for all he cared.

He began to tap his fingers against his thigh and leaned back against the wall. A couple minutes passed uncomfortably. Bakugou sat down, still against the wall. He itched his nose and then rubbed it, but Deku still did not stir.

That's for the best though... right? That way he won't try to escape? Right?

Bakugou rubbed his tongue across his teeth nervously and dug out dirt from underneath his fingernails with his thumbnail. He popped his fingers and rolled his tense shoulders. This was awful, but he has to do this. He has to do this.

A strong determination washed over him as the reason he was doing this reaffirmed his unsure heart.

"BAKUGOU KATSUKI!" the sudden yelling made him flinch, "YOU ASS! YOU GOT HOME AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME? I WAS FUCKING WORRIED ABOUT YOU, YOU LITTLE emSHIT!"

In his worry about keeping Deku alive, he had totally forgotten about his mother.

"IF YOU DON'T ANSWER ME RIGHT NOW, I'M GOING TO COME UP THERE AND MAKE YOU REGRET BEING BORN!" she screamed. Bakugou was beginning to get irritated until the thought struck him like a punch to the face.

Shit! If she comes into his room and sees Deku tied up and passed out like this, there's no telling what would happen and this could all be for nothing. It's not like he wanted to tie him up! He had no choice! He could pretend that this was something other than what he was actually doing, but this situation would look bad any way he could possibly try to spin it.

The stairs creaked, shit his mother was already climbing the stairs.

"FINE YOU FUCKING HAG! I FUCKING HAD A SHIT TON OF HOMEWORK AND DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO DEAL WITH YOUR SHIT! THERE! YOU HAPPY?!"

The creaking got louder and more aggressive.

"OF COURSE THE HELL NOT, BRAT!" her voice was still getting louder, she was still getting closer, "WHAT KIND OF SON WORRIES HIS MOTHER DAMMIT!"
