Author's Note: Hello everyone! Long time no see 👀.

Season 3 is FINALLY out, and I watched all of it since it's only 5 episodes. And it was a great season overall, especially since apparently the crew had a budget cut and couldn't make a lot of episodes. Which is understandable, because COVID is still hot on all our tails right now and it's hard to make shows or start them with low budget.

ANYWAY, I'm taking a break from The Long Con, and focusing on this story centered on none other than Sonia Conteres! Who is the adopted daughter of a VILE operative in Mexico City that Carmen has an interaction with.

I just became a fan of their sister relationship and I wanted to explore it more..in letter format!

So, enjoy the first chapter! (Or letter)

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

                  ______________

Dear Carmen,

I know we didn't really talk all that much when you were in Mexico City, but I just wanted to say..thank you. Thank you for understanding me, thank you for..helping me find a way to choose my own path. I will always remember how kind and warm you are. You almost remind me of my sister, my biological sister, in a way.

You were right. Fending for myself and living on my own wasn't easy. In fact, it was a more horrible process.

After my family died, things got more darker really fast. I lived on the streets on my own, no parents, no siblings, not at least a little guidance from people on the streets. I was all alone, and I didn't get a single look from onlookers at all. They just stayed wherever they were were standing or sitting, not even sparing me a glance.

Then the woman you know as my adopted mother took me in, and she raised me like I was her own. But..that was until I was 12 when she started to make me go on museum heists.

But the more I got older, the harder it got for me. When it came to thievery, my "mother" taught me the basics. Like sketching the layout, pickpocketing, being light on my feet, etc. But..she also pushed me too hard sometimes up to the point when I passed out from exhaustion.

After that, she didn't go easier on me. Only harder and harder.

She starved me whenever I failed a test she had for me. She locked me inside of my room all by myself for HOURS without any food. I was just..alone. Crying with my head in my knees, just WAITING for somebody to come save me. But no one came.

So that's why I was happy when you showed up. You knew she was grooming me into her perfect little thief because you knew what it felt like. And I'm so grateful that you even followed me and confronted me on living on my own at such a young age and fending for myself. Even if I was making money stealing for "Mom".

Welp. It's been fun, but I gotta go now. The bus is gonna be here any minute to take me to my next location.

I'll write more to you later!

Sincerely,

Sonia
