As I walked I stroked Mapel distractedly, but after a minute she flew out of my hands onto my shoulder where I couldn't pet her. The path started to twist and turn, and I wandered off once or twice, but found my way back. After a while I started to hear someone humming and walked slower and quieter, creeping closer to the bushes along the side. Then the humming stopped. The person who was humming now spoke, but with a high, squeaky voice. I realized that they must be very small.
"Who is there? I can see your flames."
Oh no, I cant be caught by whatever this is. It might attack me or not turn out as nice as Geuk. I started to walk backwards, away from the creature, quietly.
"It is not wise to try and sneak away from me, I can put a hex on you."
I tried to stay calm as I said, "I wasn't trying to walk away, I was..." I didn't know what to say. "Um, I was trying to-"
"I know what you are doing. You are making an excuse to get away from me because I scared you with my hex threat. I am sorry for scaring you, but you must tell me why you travel through the Wood of the Fairy Folk."
I was confused. Who was this creature? I guessed it must be a fairy because I was supposedly in the Wood of the Fairy Folk.
"I don't know why I am here, Geuk told me to walk on this path."
"Geuk? This path? Oh my flitterfly! You are princess Rosie!" The creature came out of the bushes and bowed low. They must be a pixie. I though to myself. They had long, colorful wings, but were too small for a fairy. I had read about fairies in my mythical creatures book.
"Oh, it's nice to meet you," I replied, doing my best curtsy.
"The prophecy is coming true! Soon all will be in order again! Where are my manners? I am Violet, a humble pixie from the old kingdom's rule. I was part of their fairy garden. But enough of me. Did Geuk tell you who you will encounter on this journey?"
"No, he just told me to follow the path."
"Ah, I see, typical Geuk, leaving out the most important things." Violet shook her head. "But anyways, I am only one of the mythical creatures you will meet on your journey."
"So there are more pixies?"
"No, I am the only pixie who will be coming with you."
And we headed off along the path again.
