The sun gazed down at a huge forest, where many mythical creatures lived, and right at the core, stood Elliot Village. The village was a place of freedom, children running around like a flock of lost chickens all day every day, busy people pushing wagons, carts and all sorts of things they need.
Among the tireless crowd, Jyn Lesley was struggling her way through, bumping into folks, accidentally stepping onto other people's feet, stumbling clumsily over her own feet as she went. She went zig- zag, squeezing through limbs. It was like a swarm of bees in their nest, all squeezed up and moving about. Eventually she made it to the end of the crowd, forcing herself to face a lonely little cottage a few steps up a hill.
As Jyn opened the door, she plopped into her bed. Leckeo, a young male fox, his fur was pure orange, blending with white at the tip of his tail, as well as his tiny four paws, was snoozing in a tiny basket. Once he heard the door open, Leckeo showed his pure brown eyes leaped onto Jyn's bed and nudged her gently. Jyn chuckled as she stroked Leckeo's fuzzy- like fur.
Jyn Lesley was an orphaned 17 year-old girl, whose parents had left her with the village she lived in. Her brown hair was always in a low ponytail, and usually wore hazel-coloured knee-length pants and a black hooded long-sleeved sweater, which sort... kind of... matches her brown eyes. They were given by the only one she trusted the most— Ben Copper Jr. Ben was the Leader of the Elliot Army, he was skilled and a well-trained warrior, probably the best one the village had, which was maybe why they chose him to lead the army.
Jyn had been laying in bed for the past few hours when she finally stood up and walked out, with Leckeo trotting out after her. As usual, people ignored her as if she never existed, they were " cruel " to her. Like for example...
' Hey watch it, kid! ' a blacksmith sneered at her when she didn't do anything and the blacksmith was the one who bumped into her.
Jyn couldn't take it anymore, she still hasn't figured out why everyone was acting so strange. Ever since her parents left her in this burdensome life, it's been 11 years. But the only person who was the complete opposite as the other villagers was, as said, Ben Copper Jr.
' Ben! Ben! Ben it's me! ' Jyn called as she repeatedly knocked the front door of Ben's house. She was usually impatient when it comes to knocking a door of someone she knew very well. She continued yelling relentlessly, ignoring the pain that was starting to grow in her throat, ' Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben... BEN! '
Eventually, the door opened.
' Oh, hi, Jyn. ' Ben said as his head popped out from the front door. ' What brings you here? '
As Jyn settled down, she took a brief view around the house.
' Nothing's changed. ' she observed. ' It's been a while since I've last been here. '
' Yeah, my Dad wasn't keen on upgrading this old junk. ' Ben sighed with a smile as he settled down on an armchair opposite the one Jyn was sitting on.
Ben had well-groomed brown hair with pure green eyes like a healthy new leaf. His beard, surprisingly, was also well-shaved.
' Ben! Where are my glasses? ' an old feeble- like voice sounded from upstairs, a voice Jyn had no trouble recognising— Ben Copper Sr.
' Oh no... ' she mumbled. At the sound of the tone in her voice, Leckeo immediately rushed into the dining room, seeking refuge as a grunt came from the hall and Ben Copper Sr., Ben's father, dragged himself into the living room.
' You're wearing it, Dad. ' Ben sighed as he father walked around.
' Oh. No wonder why I could see so well. At first I thought I wouldn't care about my glasses anymore just because I could— what's she doing here? '
Ben Sr.'s shocked eyes were fixed on Jyn who sighed and buried her face into her hands, muttering some words of desperation.
' Dad don't you remember? She's the one who saved Puss from the tree! You know you were lucky she was there, because Puss here is a literate brother to you! He could have died back there so please, Dad... don't do anything that'll— '
Ben Sr. looked as though offended and picked up a cat, which had a bit of brown and orange but mostly white, and held it close to his chest.
' No one scares my Puss-y. ' he sneered. Jyn looked up and sighed again, her face falling back into her hands.
' I need a nap. '
Waiting for the echoing grunt to stop, Ben sighed as he signalled to a quivering Leckeo under the dining table that it was " safe " to come out. Leckeo barked as he leaped out and rested by the armchair Jyn was sitting on.
' So uhh... Ben. I've been wondering, why do people keep treating me like an enemy? Don't I belong here? L- like them? '
Ben widened his eyes and looked as though...
' Is there something you haven't told me before? Something... that I'm not supposed to know? '
Jyn looked pleadingly at Ben. Ben sighed.
' It's a long story. I'm forced to keep it a secret from you. I'll tell you when you're ready. '
Jyn knew it wasn't Ben's fault that he's not supposed to tell her, so she had no choice but to nod and walk out. Ben watched after her as he closed the door, he was truly pitiful, he knew it wasn't fair that a secret was being kept away from someone about themselves.
