Aah, the beautiful, beautiful time when the drama starts. Love it.
The marauders finally set out to the Great Hall -not without debating on whether James needed hair gel or not though- and all of Hogwarts was watching intently, because they all had a sneaking suspicion that the way it would happen that day would be VERY different than how it had been going for the past 6 years (they're in 7th year). The Marauders sit down and the chatter continues. On the other side of the table are Lily Evans and her best friend Marlene McKinnon, chatting about who knows what and Lily occasionally adding in some snide remarks and complaints about James Potter but we all don't like talking about that do we?
Anyways, nobody could really tell if James and his friends had planned anything special so they were all very confused about it. Meanwhile all the teachers were also sitting silently as if they were actually waiting for something to happen. All teachers excluding Albus Dumbledore. The rather eccentric headmaster was donning his usual twinkly eyes and half moon shaped glasses, but also had a rather amused look on his face. The teachers who saw this knew better than to ask the headmaster what was going on because he tended to speak in confusing riddles for most of the time. No, scratch that, ALL the time.
Nothing remotely interesting happened for the rest of breakfast, and the students were all growing steadily impatient and curious by the minute because James had not yet tried anything to impress Lily, and that meant that something was indeed wrong. Meanwhile, one student in particular was looking very smug at the probability that James had given up on Lily. Any guesses people? Well, I am pretty sure that all of us are very sure that this student, known as Severus Snape aka the Slytherin who used to be Lily Evans' best friend but called her a mudblood so they're not friends anymore. Snape had never particularly liked the marauders, they WERE his arch enemies, soooooo yeah.
Snape was also extremely infuriated when Lily befriended Remus Lupin in 3th year and kept telling her how he was bad news, along with his other three friends, but Lily was convinced that Remus was alright, I mean, he was one of the smartest in class AND became a prefect in 5th year too! Anyways, I'm really going off topic now. CONTINUING!
Well, Snape was smug and also sort of relieved that 'Potter' didn't try anything on Lily yet. He was also pretty sure that even if he DID do something to try and impress Lily, she would reject him. Harshly. Anyways, the hall was loud with the chattering of students but it was also kind of subdued because they were all rather worried that nothing weird happened yet. I mean, most of them, scratch that, ALL of them were rather jobless other than their classes. And this routine that happened everyday was legitimately their only source of proper entertainment than maybe Quidditch.
Finally, after a while, James Potter got up from his seat and slid into the one next to Lily Evans. She was about to scream at him before he turned to her and said in a calm and gentle voice, a very contrasting tone to how he usually spoke, and said, "Hey, Evans. I just want to say that-" but he was interrupted by Lily who had abruptly stood up, looming over him red faced and furious.
A/N: Oh ho ho ho! Some drama is starting up now eh? Idk why I added a cliffhanger but I did. VERY EVIL I KNOWWWWWW! Oof XD I'm weird
