Sugar and spice,
Creating something nice,
Distinct garlic aroma,
Could it be chicken korma?!
Peeling, slicing, and chopping,
The love never stopping,
Juicing, dicing, and deseeding,
The fun never receding.
Kneading, mixing, and stirring,
Loud blender whirring,
Squeezing, crushing, and grating,
Chatting while waiting.
Frying, boiling, and sizzling,
Steaming, baking, and fizzing,
Nothing else can compare,
To these kitchen memories we share.
Beautiful, bubbly, banquet
A tasty comfort blanket,
Friendly, family feast,
Five Dad jokes at least!
No matter the food,
Always puts you in a good mood,
When in fine company, never a waste,
Delicious when savoured, never in haste.
After cakes and ice cream,
Happy, like a dream,
Washing up, cleaning plates,
While enjoying banter with mates.
There's no more scrumptious a bite,
Than the type of dining that unites.
