Chapter 1: Some things never change

April 10th, 2021. It's 11pm and many college students were having a big party on a Saturday night after everyone took an important exam for their class. One person was in the bathroom throwing up. A Couple making out, everyone dancing and eating as usual. Then there's two people who were ready to leave the party, Marco and Ashley. Marco is Miguel's friend and Ashley is Miguel's cousin. When Marco and Ashley left the party, Jason, the "party host" told them to wait for him before they were leaving.

Jason: Guys wait up.

Marco and Ashley look back, desperate to leave.

Jason: You're both leaving already? It's only been an hour, almost two but who's counting

Marco and Ashley look at each other for a second, then looks back at Jason with a fake smile

Marco: We're just exhausted from the test and we studied our ass off for it, unlike you, I'm guessing you didn't

Jason: Oh no i actually studied. I aced that test for sure, don't worry about me

Jason flexes his muscles, smiling at Marco as he chews his gum. Ashley rolls her eyes and sighs.

Ashley: Jason, i have a ton of shit to do for my classes. why do you even care that we leave early?

Jason: You know what, never mind. I was curious about you guys leaving early because it's weird for people to do that, they never do that in my party. Only lame people leave parties early

Ashley: I really don't care what you think, we barely know you. You invited everyone, including my friends which is the reason why I decided to come but they got bored and they left before us, so what?

Jason: If your pressed , just leave and don't even bother coming back to my next party, only guys are invited. Bros before hoes.

Jason winks at Marco, showing a sneak peek of his abs and then shows off his middle finger to Ashley as he heads back inside his dorm, closing the door.

Marco: That was such a dick move, he was flipping you off!

Ashley: Yeah but it doesn't bother me. Anyways, ain't it obvious he likes you. He was trying to impress you

Marco: Oh please, he's straight, I've seen him date a girl before and most men are trash these days.

Ashley: maybe he's bisexual. Shit, maybe even bicurious. Hate to say this but I have a feeling you two would be a cute couple, even though hes annoying and stupidly good looking

Marco: Maybe in an alternate universe, we are for sure dating. I don't know him much though

Ashley: Oh please, you know him way more than me. Plan a date!

Marco laughs while poking Ashley. Ashley slightly pushes him away

Ashley rolls her eyes as her and Marco exits the dorms and walks outside to get to their assigned dorms on campus. As they walk closer to the building, Ashley's phone rings. She gets her phone out of her pocket and looks at it, it states, "unknown number". She answers it

Ashley: your lucky I answered it, I rarely answer unknown numbers unless I get a call from a job I recently applied
