I'll Be There For You

Chapter 1

"Akira it's time to wake up !" The red and white haired girl with the old scar across her left eye , an exact picture of her father Shoto , opened her eyes sleepily. "Dad, it's like 5 in the morning!" She whined. "More like seven ." Her father laughed , a rare sight for his daughter to see now adays . " Izuku is here!" He added slyly, knowing that would get his daughter up and running. " Pro hero Deku is here!" She screeched. She shot out of bed , ran past her father and pounded down the stairs. Shoto shook his head . " Me and my big mouth " He laughed to himself. He slowly followed his youngest daughter downstairs, pausing at the room where his second oldest daughter, Izumi had once slept. "Oh Momo , Izumi , why couldn't I have saved you ?" He thought as tears slipped from his heterchroma colored eyes. He then heard Deku call him , so he yelled " Coming!" as he dashed the two tears out of his eyes. As he descended the last two stairs , he felt Midoriya's concerned glance look at him . It was only a matter of time before his best friend would ask him . He took a deep breath and smiled a small smile . " Go pick up your cousin Akira " he said quietly. As the girl turned , her beautiful grey and blue eyes stared at him . " I love you dad , stay safe" she whispered, hugging him hard. Shoto nodded and whispered " I will " back to her . As she ran out the door, he stared at her silhouette fading in the distance. " I swear I won't let you down Akira!" He thought. Once she had faded, Deku turned to him . "Shoto we need to talk about your brother , Touya. " What about him?" Shoto asked worried. " You know he's working for both sides, the heroes and villains . He told me , that the villians are planning another attack . " Deku said , looking into Shoto's eyes. " He's worried about you , you know , he always is , after the accident....." Deku's voice trailed off as the flashback hit...... As Shoto stood there, seeing his wife and his second oldest daughter's bodies get carried out of the wreck , he heard a scream. His head turned and saw Akira clutching her head and ice flying through the air. The movements slowed and Todoroki gasped. "A time freeze!" He quickly raised his arms and created a fire dome , protecting the people around from Akira's icy blast. His arms began to ache from the strain of holding it up . He was shocked and finally collapsed to the ground. Just as the dome fell, another shot up into place, except it was blue flames. A hand went around Shoto, supporting him. " Touya?" He whispered. His brother's beautiful blue eyes pierced his own , looking worried. "It'll be ok Shoto, I promise"......... Just as quickly as it had come , the flashback vanished, leaving Midoriya's worried face in its place. "Shoto !" He was saying worriedly. "I failed !" Shoto whispered. He fell to the ground, feeling Midoriya go down with him . " I made a promise to Akira and I failed , as a father !" He whispered. The tears began to fall and the ice began to spread. They were both silent for a while , then Shoto spoke . " Let's go to U.A., we're gonna be late. " Midoriya was about to object , but saw Shoto's determined gaze. The two men got up and walked off in the direction of U.A. "Shoto , I wish you would tell me these things." Deku cried in his head, gazing at the young man's face, filled with scars and wounds from the past, but wanting to give his daughter a better life. He knew the feeling of wanting to give his kids a better chance . His mind drifted to Makota, his 15 year old son . Kota's quirk was One For All , Deku's own quirk he had passed down to his son. He was his whole world and he knew Akira was Todoroki's whole world . He knew Todoroki of all people wanted to give Akira a better life then his own had been. Shoto's childhood had been horrible and when Deku had heard about his childhood, he had been horrified. Shoto's mom had poured boiling water onto his face in a moment of insanity, scarring her son's left eye for life. Now Shoto's own daughter had gotten scarred in the very accident that killed his wife and second oldest daughter. Deku sighed as they walked into U.A.'s entrance. He would have to talk to Shoto later, now they had to teach classes.
