I am loved

I steal a few breaths, glancing at the mirror I had infront of me, it's been a few years since Luz left, maybe 10 years? 15 years? I haven't kept count, all I know is she can't get out of my head, it's a pity really, she's probably forgotten about me, I was just a school friend, but why can't I get this human out of my head?

"Are you ready my darling?" I hear a familiar voice shout my name from the other room, "Almost." It was my husband. He walks in the room and gives me a blank stare, and walks up to me, "Are you sure you want to put on that much makeup, you look bad with it on, take it off." I nod in agreement. 'It was a little to much I guess' I think to myself as I look in the mirror, taking off most of my makeup.

We were going out for brunch, we usually go out for brunch, it's something we do on weekends, I don't like it, but it's fine. We were heading to our favorite cafe, they basically knew us, when me and my husband would walk in, the whole boiling isles knows who I am now, which I guess I'm fine with.

We walk in to take a seat, "Oh hello miss and mr Blight!" A worker welcomed me and my husband in, we both take a seat, ordering drinks and what not. As I was sipping my water, I hear a familiar voice, a voice I haven't heard in a while?

I heard a few laughs from a few workers, I wanted to be a little bit noisy, the voice was so familiar but I don't know who. I got up, patting my black dress so I look presentable as my husband would like to say, "Where are you going?" My husband demanded, "I-I'll be right back! I have to go to the restroom! Please excuse me!" I announce rushing out to find the mysterious voice.

"Yeah!! It's so weird to be back, I mean I haven't visited this place,, in like what? Ten, fifteen years?" I push my self against the floor taking a peak to see the person,,, it couldn't be, could it?

"Luz?" I show myself, the brunette turned her head, I let out a gasp of shock, "A-Amity!!??" Before I could say anything, she hugged me, I felt her warmth of a hug, which I missed so much. I wrapped my arms around her, tearing up a little, not going to lie. "I can't believe you're back!" I pushed her off, to see a better glance, "Yeah! Crazy, right?" She still had that warmth smile when we were 15, "What are you doing back at the boiling isles?" "Oh well I happened to be studying for a story I'm writing for a book about this place!" She took out her notebook to show some progress.

"Very interesting Luz!!" I was scheming through what her rough draft looks like. While I was reading, I felt a hand touch my shoulder, my spine shivered. "Who's this?" My husband gave me a glance, as he released his hands off my shoulders, "This is-" "I'm Luz Noceda! I am a writer, and Amitys childhood friend!!" I nodded as I admired her, "Oh, I've never heard of you 'Luz Noceda'" I avoided his glance he gave me "And this is my husband... Azure Blight." Luz looked as shocked as I was to see her, "H-husband? Amity, congrats!! I mean 25 is a young age to get married at, but nice to meet you!!" My husband looked at his clocked and then glanced back at the smiley women, and me, "Well I'm afraid to interrupt this discussion, but me and wife have to go now, we have a very important meeting to attend and I would hate to be late for it." I could tell he hated Luz because she was a human, "Oh,, well bye Luz! Maybe we can meet up later for drinks?" "Later it is!" She gave me a wink, as my husband pushed me out of the doorway, my face feeling all hot.

"So? You were friends with a human girl?" He looked at me in disbelief, "Yes, but she's not like any human girl I've ever seen," I brushed a few strains of hair behind my ear, "Oh, we can continue this discussion later" I could tell he was angry, and I wasn't ready for that conversation, "But for now, let's focus on not being late to this meeting we have with the emperors coven," I nodded. My guts feeling all weird.
After the meeting, Amity and her husband arrived home, ready for a argument to build up.
"So, this human girl? I don't want you to hang out with her, it'll give this family a bad name, and that's not what I want!" He sighs, "But shes my friend!" Ive never spoken up like this i usually just nod in agreement, "Don't talk back to me like that! I am your husband!" I groaned, "Sure you maybe be my husband, but that doesn't give you the right to control everything I do!!" I brushed my hair back with my fingers angrily, "But I'm telling you not to hang out with this human girl!! I don't want our reputation to get ruined." He pointed his finger in my face, "It's not our reputation, it's yours, you don't like seeing my happy, but I'm going to be happy anyways!" Silence broke into the room. "Now, I have to get going, I need to meet Luz!" I walked out the house without him giving a word, and brushing off what just happened.
