JJ POV
Mark is good friends with Nathan, CTE's tour manager, and he let us watch from the side stage. We had a great view from here, and I absolutely love seeing Crown the Empire perform. Watching them jump around, not to mention Dave and Andy's vocals are just beautiful and mesmerizing. And I love watching Benn, Brandon, and Hayden, and Brent play. Crown the Empire is such a great band.
As Jade and I were singing along to MNSTR, I got a text. I checked my phone and saw that it was from Danny, Leo's best friend. "Hey, JJ, I know you're busy following your dreams, but I wanted you to know that we fucked up big time. All I can say is sorry."
What the hell does that mean? Probably just one of those drunk texts like always. I disregarded it. I can deal with this when one of my favorite bands isn't on stage.
"Yo, Jay, stop texting your boyfriend and look at Benn," I heard Jade say when she nudged me.
"I'm not texting my-" I stopped dead in my tracks, because I looked up to see a now shirtless Benn, who is about to throw his shirt into the crowd. He literally looks like a Chippendale from Vegas, with his ripped, sweaty body and arm raised to throw his shirt into the crowd. Woah.
"I guess Suede's a regular Magic Mike," Said Mark with a laugh, "maybe I should do that one day."
I punched him in the shoulder, hard. "Mark! You're freaking married to my best friend for god's sake! Do you have a brain?"
"Oh shit. Well never mind then." Mark mumbled with a guilty look on his face.
"You're so dumb, Banks," Jade said as she smiled.
We were interrupted by the shrieks of like 500 girls as Benn threw his shirt. I watched as I watched a guy catch it. I laughed at that fact, a guy catching Benn Suede's shirt, instead of an over obsessive fangirl.
"Well Benn, at least we know how much of a sissy you are. That was a lame throw," I heard Andy say into the mic. Benn chose to reply with his middle finger. Benn can always makes me laugh. He's a great guy to talk to. We've talked a few times, when Jade has dragged Elsa and I along with the CTE guys, so she can hang with Brent, her boyfriend of three months. When I first met him, I thought he liked me, but then I realized I was probably just imagining things. Besides, I have Leo anyway, so why does it even matter? It doesn't.
Dave's voice brought us to attention. "Well, sadly, this is our last song, as well as one of our favorites to perform. It was the beginning of the end, and it's called The Fallout, it goes a lot like this."
I heard Andy begin to whisper count: "1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4........ I felt my heart rate begin to, choke out the fucking noise like I was cursed......."
Jade and I sang right along, and knowing these lyrics like our own names. These lyrics make me feel right at home, and it made me smile getting to see another band perform, who were just like we were not much long ago. I've been following Crown the Empire as far back as when they were just a bunch of broke teenagers, following their dreams exactly like us. As I watched the CTE guitarists jump around all drenched in sweat, I felt a warm glow in my chest just watching how happy they were having their once dreams become a reality before their very own eyes.
