Julie woke early. She put on her diaper and went to Unkies room. He was asleep, so she made a bowl of Peanut Butter Captain Crunch. She was bored and wanted to go out and play. Mag's and Ashwey's door was closed and locked. That meant they didn't want to be bothered and were playing grown-up games. She went out back the warm morning sun felt good on her body and the grass still damp with morning dew tickled her toes. In the little house she saw Coween's diapered bottom still in bed through the sheer curtains. It would not be nice to wake her. She didn't  know if she was grumpy or not, but decided not to push her new friend.

She thought about going inside and waking Unkie up, but that would be rude and he was ALWAYS grouchy if she woke him up. Walking out the gate she saw a bunny run into Cheryl and Carl's yard. This far out in the country animals were always running around. This time the bunny stopped and looked at her. It was smaller than the ones she saw before. She thought it was a lost baby, or it could be one that was just smaller than all the others. Either way, she had a connection. She was the smallest with no other children in the neighborhood and thought she could make a friend.

"Hewwo, Bunny." she waved. "My name is Bunny too."

She took one small step toward the little creature and it did not run. Instead, it took two hops toward her.

"Wait here? I'll get you a pwesent." She said in as nice a voice as she could, and she slowly turned and walked back through the still open gate. What she didn't notice was that the small rabbit followed her at a safe distance. Perhaps it had never seen a human before, or perhaps it understood the strange little human meant it no harm.

Julie went in the house and the small rabbit waited at the bottom of the stairs to the deck still not noticed by Julie. Inside, Julie found the little carrots they ate as snacks in the bottom drawer of the refrigerator. She prefered potato chips, but the big people said we have to eat healthy snacks sometimes. One of her books had a story about rabbits eating carrots. This was a small rabbit so it probably liked small carrots.

Julie walked back outside and saw the bunny had fallen asleep at the bottom of the stairs. She was disappointed at first. All her friends were asleep. She put two of the tiny carrots by the bunny in case it woke up and wanted breakfast. She wanted to play in the pool but that was absolutely not allowed unless a big person was there. Besides, it was locked and she couldn't get in. She had already risked going outside the gate and didn't want to press her luck. She was allowed to play on her swings or explore the woods as long as she could see the house. So she want back inside and put on a shirt and sandals so the stickers thorns wouldn't get her. She had wet her diaper only a little so she didn't bother to change it. She did pack two spare unicorn pull-ups in case she wet again and the carrots in case she got hungry. She grabbed a bottle of water and started her journey.

Julie didn't notice the bunny had relocated under the stairs. It was waiting for her. Or, should I correct it was waiting for more carrots. All she noticed was the bunny and carrots were gone. She said half under her breath, "So long little bunny, I hope you enjoyed your breakfast. come back anytime."

Julie explored the edge of the woods as far as she was allowed to go in which wasn't very far. The only break she took was when she noticed the bunny hopping behind her. She stopped and sat on a stump left by a tree unkie had cut down long before she came to be with them. She had not bothered to stop to pee opting to use her diaper instead. She liked that Unkie and the rest said it was up to her if she used it or not. Though she was still very young she appreciated the differences between male and female. Carl, Maffew, and now Colleen never hid nor flaunted their bits. She was even beginning to understand how Colleen could be a girl and still have parts of a man. She took off her wet diaper and heard rustling under the leaves and brush. She dropped her diaper and pulled her legs up on the stump. She was frozen in fear as she let out a stream of pee. It was a genuine accident driven by fear. She was trying to gather the courage to scream and run as she saw a familiar face emerge from the leaves. It was the little bunny.  Now she flooded the stump feeling the wetness flow under her bottom from relief she wasn't going to get eaten by an alligator.

"You scawed me Wittle Bunny." she quietly scolded. "See I made pee pees." She stood up to get her bottom off the cold wet stump.

The bunny said, "Chirp!" the way bunnies do.

Julie didn't know buneese (The language that bunnies speak) but she knew it wanted more carrots. she dropped one and chewed one another as she walked away. She walked toward the house. First she noticed Colleen swimming in the pool, Maffew was sitting on the side watching her. She could see Ash and Mags in the kitchen cooking something. None were wearing clothing except Mags was wearing panties and a shirt by the stove. That's one of the lessons she remembered from before "Never fry bacon naked." Or, should you cook anything with out clothes on. Decades later she always wore at least a shirt while cooking.

She looked behind her and the bunny was hopping a few feet behind.
