Chapter 1: Nuisances

Chapter One: this Magical World

This world is filled with magic, monsters and heroes. You get sorted into either a warrior, a tank, a healer or a mage. I was orphaned as a child and was sorted as a mage. My magic is uncontrollable but I have learned to channel my magic into rings. These rings, that I have called magic rings, each contain a spell that has different effects. I activate my spells by holding my ringed hand over a spot on my Sword. My familiar, Kyu, is a baby dragon that was abandoned by its mother after it hatched. I'm sorry, I still haven't introduced myself, my name is Ryu, that's all I know about my past. In my little village I have been given the nickname: Ryu the ringed Mage. My magic rings are usable by any mage or healer so I make money by making duplicates of my magic rings and charging three silver pieces per ring. In my village there are several guilds that want me but they only want me to supply magic rings. Other mages have tried to reverse engineer my magic rings to make their own, however those bootleg rings break after a single use while my magic rings never break.

"Hey ringed magician! Is my ring ready yet?" Shouted a customer

"Yep, just show me your receipt and I'll give you the ring." Answered Ryu

The customer shows Ryu their receipt and Ryu hands him a ring. "Right the portal ring, now this ring will let you create portals to your desired location." explained Ryu

"Thanks Ryu, can I also put an order for a ring that can buff someone up to an extreme?" Asked the Customer

"Yep, that will be a strength ring. That will take a couple of days, I'll send my familiar when it's ready." replied Ryu "Now I know you have your own weapon but do you have a way to channel the power of the ring?"

"Yep, my spear is my magic conduit." Answered the Customer

"Right now thanks for shopping with us today and have a nice day." Said Ryu as the Customer left

Suddenly a party came into the shop.

"Hello, welcome what can I get for you today, do you have a ring that you already have on order, if so please show a receipt." Said Ryu

"Actually, Ryu the Ring Wearing Mage, we would like to recruit you to join our party, we have a warrior, a couple tanks and a healer but we don't have a mage." said the leader of the party.

"And you're hoping I'll join you in return your healer will be able to get free magic rings from yours truly." Said Ryu

"No not at all, our healer doesn't need any outside help to cast their Spells. We just really need a mage to become a full-fledged party." Said one of the tanks.

"Really, you guys aren't after my product?" Asked a skeptic Ryu

"Yeah, look we aren't leaving till you join us Mage!" Said the Warrior

"Well then if you're not going to leave then you can do some jobs around the store as this is basically a one man show not counting Kyu over there."

Kyu looks up from his bed upon hearing his name but goes back to sleep soon after.

"Fine if that's what it takes to have you join us. Right guys" Shouted The Warrior

"Are you serious Korve!" Shouted one of the Tanks

"Yeah I'm Serious Calak!" Shouted Warrior now known as Korve.

"Look Korve We respect you as a leader and all but we are not just going to work just to get a mage right guys." Shouted Calak the tank before realizing that his other teammates started to clean the shop

"Guys what the Hell, we can find another mage in town so let's go." Shouted Calak at his other teammates

"Actually you can't, there's the only one other mage in town who hasn't joined any party and She's kind of ... Unique, parties usually avoid her because of her 'Primal' nature." Responded Ryu "Look if you're not leaving before I join you a lot, will you at Least tell me your names."
