"Feminism is not a dirty word. It does not mean you hate men. It does not mean you hate girls that have nice legs and tan and it does not mean you are a bitch or a dyke, it means you believe in Equality" .
- Kate Nash
'Feminism is a range of social movements, political movements and ideologies that aim to define and establish the political ,economic ,personal and social equality of the sexes.' In simple language it is the equality that is been seeking . Every child born to be a female tend to receive violence in various forms either in gestures or in the form of assault and words. If a voice or any action is been done supporting for those woman who is been treated unequally or been into devastating situations , then the first question that is been raised to that girl would be ,"ARE YOU A FEMINIST". To there aspect the word FEMINISM is something which puts down a women's dignity .Well to them the only thing to say is that the idea of Feminists or Feminism is not something what only a women can do but all genders can . When for years females were being ruled by the men community thinking that voices of men can only be accepted to the society there were certain women rejected them and came forth showing that even female do have voices and they too have rights with which they are free to live for themselves. When male community hesitated to support these women they themselves came out for their rights . And if you think feminists are not right then you have not yet seen the right feminists. What media try to expose in the name of feminism may not be the right definition to it. Feminism never meant that females are above men or female can do anything that puts down the dignity of a woman. Every individual being either male or female or even a transgender got their own rights. Everyone do have certain duties and responsibilities to show for the future generation . If a woman is been treated unequally that doesn't give the right to do arbitrary things to men. And definitely it is the duty of each man to make sure that no woman just because she is born to be a SHE does not receive equality.
"WHY do you have to literally support for these kind of females who think that all are equal and when certain things come up ,they themselves say that they are females so need special care . They actually try to put other obedient female also into wrong path making them believe men are not required to the society at all ,as if they being bossy to us ." This was a statement made by my friend . Well thinking about what they say, make us all been into chaos. The true essence of feminism is lacking and that's the reason such statements are been made. If their voices are being heard, its only because of tremendously being exhausted . Hope majority of the people know who is Nangeli. She belonged to a Ezhava community who lived in the 19th centuary . She is a well known feminist who belonged to those era. The voice she raised was for the right to freely cover their breasts. At those times if a girl get to cover her breasts need to pay tax if she belonged to this Ezhava community . Well for that she protested by cuttting off her breast and died of it. Just because of such a strong movement the ruler had to get down that rule . Yes , that is something you call it to be a feminism because she raised her voice to be treated equally , just because they belonged to such a community doesn't make them less value. If a woman comes up saying that she want to do certain job or want to study certain things just because of her gender that shouldn't be neglected. When they say all should be treated equally that means all equals to be treated equally , isn't that our constitution provides us according to Article 14. When stating that equals to be treated equally that means there are differences between men and women . There are mental and physical aspects which differ them . If suppose a man states that a female is not suppose to pay equally for the job done same as men then there inequality stricks , and definitely women is not asking to get the muscle power job for all females just because men are doing them . Obviously that's not the idea but if she is capable of doing them then she should be given opportunity for it. Just like a man got his dreams even woman do have them. Choosing her career is her choice, when to get married is her choice, with whom she should live is her choice . Respect every individuals choices and it is never good to give less value to their decisions.
" Don't you have shame to cry like a girl, boys never cry , don't be a shame to the whole community ,stop doing that dirty work". If you are a boy then you might have gone through such a statement atleast once in your life during childhood. From childhood boys never had the freedom to cry out ,just because he is a boy. They made those innocent hearts believe by saying that crying shows weakness nor crying are only meant for girls. How foolish was to give such statements and made us believe them. Anger is a sign of power and being strong ,and if he cries he is a weak personality. After all these were just emotions which got nothing to treat with gender. Whether boy or girl both got these emotions. How can someone stop them from expressing their pain and restricting them just because they belong to a gender. Being a boy or a man must require great strength to live in this society like this. All their worries and pain is been hold on, which actually is one of the reason of depressions and suicides. If they were treated without giving much pressure to them then we do can decrease these suicidal attempts. For that Gender Equality is a must. Just because they belong to a gender things should not control them. Give them the freedom to breathe fresh air. Let them be free from restrictional approaches from society. Let them be given the rights to do for what they want and express themselves the way they feel. And if you think those are been violated then raise your voice against them.' IF NOT ME, WHO? IF NOT NOW, WHEN? ' Remember this and and let us stand together with a helping hand for one another.
"It is the time that we all see gender as a spectrum instead of two sets of opposing ideals."
-Emma Watson
