"Here," Zayn said lifting the bowl of prawns and passing it to Lauren.
"Is it good?" Clara asked. Zayn chewed the dish and closed his eyes, letting out a sound effect that the dish was delicious.
"Appetizing," said Zayn simply while he nodded.
"It's Lauren and her father's favorite dish of mine," Clara told the guy.
"I wouldn't mind eating this every night,"
"Really?" Lauren giggled. Zayn looked at her and winked.
"I'm serious. Mother doesn't even have time to cook dinner... Well she's always busy at her small store at town," he shrugged. Zayn's mother owns a store and sells fruit and vegetables. She always goes home at 9 in the evening while he's father is a soldier and only visits back home every once or twice a year and sometimes, Zayn don't get to see his father.
"Has your father came to visit?" Mike asked.
"Not yet," Zayn shook his head slightly.
"Hope he's fine and well, why don't you invite your mother tomorrow night and we'll have dinner together," Clara suggested.
"That's a good idea,"
"It's Saturday tomorrow, by next week, we have to sell hundred fifty sacks for rice..." Zayn said drinking his water.
"Right," Mike said standing up. "Let's get a long rest shall we," he finished, taking his plate to the basin.
All of them finished eating. Lauren washed all the dishes with Zayn helping him. It was raining heavily outside so Zayn had to wait till it stops. He lives 4 houses away from the Jauregui family.
"Have you seen Mrs Cabello?" Lauren asked Zayn.
"Uh huh, a few times," he respond.
"How about his daughter?"
"Oh not yet, you've seen her?" Zayn asked raising his brows.
"Kinda," Lauren said.
"Rich people are harsh. They do not care about what people feel," Zayn stated. The brunette looked at him with an unsure look. Not all rich people are bad, mostly are kind-hearted.
"False," Lauren protested. "Mrs Cabello seems quite nice,"
"That's where you're wrong, Lauren." Zayn shook his head. The brunette frowned.
"She has fired many workers just because they didn't sell the number of sacks that was told to them."
"That's so unreasonable of her," Lauren said. Zayn has been staring at her for long and she didn't even notice as she was looking out the window waiting for the rain to stop pouring.
The rain eventually stopped. Lauren and Zayn stood up from the stairs and walked towards the door. Lauren opened the door and stepping out of the way.
"I'll see you tomorrow," she smiled.
"Of course," he said. Lauren leaned in and gave Zayn a hug. He stepped out of the house and grabbed his sword putting it on his back.
"Bye," Lauren waved and Zayn just gave him a wink. The brunette closed the door behind him and went upstairs to her bedroom.
The cockling of the rooster can be heard signaling that it was 6 in the morning. Lauren slowly opened her eyes and then yawned. She got out of the bed while stretching her arms and legs. She stood in front of the mirror, grabbed the comb and started combing her hair.
"Ma, how's Chris?" Lauren asked with a raspy as she walk down the stairs hearing her mother do the choirs in the kitchen.
"Thank God his fever went down, thirty-seven point eight degree hunny," Clara told her daughter. She filled the kettle with water and placed it on the stove, turning the fire on.
