Jace POV

"Thanks, Esme." Jacob smiled at Esme, thanking her for the feast she'd prepared. I didn't think that three people could eat so much- there was enough food for a party of people. But they surprised me, Jacob eating nearly ten plates of food- Seth following up with eight.

The lot of us sat in the in the living room- Renesmee sitting at the piano in her usual spot with Jacob leaning against the wall behind her, enjoying his food and listening intently. Esme was in the kitchen, cleaning up the food mess. Seth and Emmett sat on the sofa playing on an Xbox, while Leah and I sat on the loveseat.

I wasn't sure what to do- I usually just sat and ate in settings like these. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do that anymore. In fact the food- which once upon a time I loved, smelled revolting now. It was weird.

So I sat on the loveseat awkwardly, fidgeting with my fingers, not saying anything. I could feel Leah's heat beside me, it felt like the sun. I kept hearing her gasp- quietly. As if she opened her mouth to say something but then didn't say anything. Her presence made me feel like I was in middle school, butterflies fluttered around my stomach.

I pretended to watch Seth and Emmett play a madden football game. I was rooting for Seth, Emmett was too cocky. And by the looks of it, his giant fingers would crush the controller.

"What's your favorite color?" Leah finally spoke. I looked over at her, her eyes holding me. I blinked at her. What a random question. Not that I minded her talking to me.

"Green." I said, unsure. "What's yours?"

She thought for a moment, and her eyes locked with mine again.

"Amber." She laughed quietly. I wanted to ask what was funny, but she spoke again.

"What shade of green?" She gave me a small smile.

"Sort of... Dark? Rich? Very royal and ethereal."

It only took a few seconds for her to ask another question.

"Do you like being a vampire?" She asked me.

I thought about it for a moment, taking the question seriously.

"Mostly yes. It has its perks. But it has downsides, too." She leaned in closer to me, invested in my answer.

"What're the pros and cons?" She asked.

"Cons: not being able to eat food, the thirst for blood, not being able to sleep..." I listed off various cons, not including my brother. "Pros: sparkling, faster reading, super senses, increased physical abilities, powers, no more crooked teeth-" Leah cut me off.

"Powers? Like mind reading?" Her expression was terrified- a deer in headlights. I laughed at her face.

"No, no. That's just Edward. I.. don't really know how to explain it."

"She's basically a super hero. Levitation, gravity control type - stuff. It's kinda been all over the place. Over powered, if you ask me." Emmett commented to Leah and teasing me, glancing at me with a sly grin. I stuck my tongue out at him. This got Seth's attention.

"Hold up, levitation? How?" His head turned to face me, his torso half turned in my direction.

I shrugged. "I don't know. How can Alice see the future?"

"Can you do it right now? Can you show us?" Seth had put the controller down now, Emmett following suit.

"Uh, well. The last time I did it inside I crushed Esme's ceiling, so if I show you we'll have to go outside."
