Chapter Four
"Tonight we are Victorious, champagne pouring over us,"
Five followed the group, his siblings trailing behind him off in their little worlds. The group they saw at the quarry had parted ways. Leaving the boy with the curly hair, the boy with the thick lens glasses, and lastly the boy with the stutter, as well as the kid with the fanny pack. To talk about who was riding home with whom. Five was suspicious of the kids however, he knew he would need to get closer to them, to know what they were up to. The sound all of the kids were running from got closer down the street. A boy with a mullet emerged from a blue mustang grasping onto a switchblade in his hands. The kids all peddled away as fast as possible however another boy who happened to be driving the car drove faster and caught up to them. Five just sat back and watched the whole thing play out. A frown resting on his face, as holding a piping hot cup of black coffee Allison had bought him just moments ago.
Taking a small sip of his bitter beverage, Five felt a hand placed on his shoulder. Turning around to see Luther, his brother behind him, giving him a look of pity. Erupting his curiosity exploding within him Five and his small lanky body. Of course, never knowing why this look had been plastered on his brother’s face. Except his drug called the apocalypse and he was addicted deep. No words came out however Luther and Allison looked at him and the difference radiated throughout their personality. Therefore had yet to notice his other three living siblings hadn’t fallen or traveled with him. At last, this time he wound up with two however, regret-filled in his emotion as his siblings played in the parts he was too naive and numb to see. Diego, Klaus, nor Vanya had traveled with them god knows where they could have been. Stranded throughout time was Five’s first thought as Allison petted his shoulder plating out the wrinkles on his navy blue standard Umbrella Academy schoolboy blazer.
The look appeared in Five’s beautiful bright vibrant green eyes. He gave a look that you could tell from a distance that the small beast was angry. Five as a highly trained assignment was never a good look or sign for that matter. “I am so sorry however if you do not buy something Sir, I will have to ask you and your Wife and Son to leave this property.” An old woman scolded shooting three out of seven siblings away from the cafe. Five gritted his teeth as he pulled out his brother and his sister by the sleeve.
Mentally gagging from what that woman had told the trio. “What the hell man!” a familiar voice rang through the open arcade door.
Five saw the boy with the thick lenses playing Street Fighter. He seemed so engrossed in the arcade game it was concerning. “Richie quite beats the machine and let us go,” the boy with the fanny pack also from earlier scolded the other boy. “Fine let's go back to your mom,” Richie told the smaller boy now knowing one of their names. Eavesdropping on their short bickering honestly they sounded like an old married couple. Five traced the outlines of each button on the video game. Triggering memory from the time he was stranded alone in the apologies. Images of his siblings lying unconscious under the rubble of his childhood home flickered in his mind. Five awoke to find Luther carrying him like a newborn infant.
Following the boys, home walking past a house that looked as if it was a fake haunted house that was well dressed. However, as Luther took larger strides towards the house you could find crackheads littering the lawn and the smell of the sewer grew more and more potent stronger by the second. A look of disgust sneered on Five’s face as Luther just about dropped him from the gruesome smell. “What the hell Luth don’t drop our brother,’ Allison scolded her ex childhood lover.
