Today was the day.

Today was the day that I walk in school without going unnoticed.

Today is the day that everyone knows who I am.

Today is that day.

All I could think about while getting ready this morning was what was going to happen when I walk through the school doors. I'm honestly not really one to care about what other people think, but lately I've been feeling a bit insecure. Not in my looks, or my grades, but my social life. I do have friends, if that's what you call them. The small smile you give them when you pass them in the hallway, or the slight head nod when you see them in class. Those are my friends.

I do have my two best friends Poppy and Tyler, but I've been so caught up with college applications that I've never really seen them out of school. I get the occasional texts from them asking to go out to a movie or something, but normally turn them down due to the excessive amount of schoolwork I have on my shoulders.

I've been thinking about my "friends" lately and realized that I don't have any real friends, so what better way to deal with that, than to get some more companions.

This whole shindig with Harry has been helping out a lot with my social life. I've gotten so many party invites and unknown numbers texting me, it's crazy. I just hope it's all worth it in the long run.

I walk over to my door as I hear the doorbell ring, opening it to a smiling Harry.

"Ready to go?" Harry asks giddily.

"Yeah. What's with the Big Bird act?"

"Two in one day!" he smiled.

"You disgust me." I scoff and grab my backpack.

"How can you already say that if I haven't told you the details yet?"

"No no no no no no." I shout, covering my ears.

"Don't worry, my lips are sealed. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."

"But we're not in Vegas." I climb in his car.

"Shut the hell up okay, I'm trying to be funny."

"I could make an attempt to laugh, but that's too much work."

"Lazy ass," he mumbles.

"Cunt bagel," I retort.

"Elliot," he gasps and covers his mouth as soon as my name comes out of his mouth.

"How could you," I put my hand over my heart.

We both laugh in unison as Harry starts the car. I turn on the radio to the news channel, but Harry turns it off and shook his head.

"Hey! I like to be informed on the latest coverage." I whine.

"Well sorry to interrupt your news report, but we have to set some ground rules."

"Like what?"

"We have to walk in school holding hands to officiate this." he says motioning to himself and I.

"Agreed. What about lunch?"

"I'll sit with you and.."

"Poppy and Tyler." I finish his sentence.

"Poppy and Tyler?" he questions.

"My best friends."

He makes an 'o' with his mouth and continues with the rules.

"In class we don't sit by each other so that we don't look too clingy, I hate those couples." he shivers.

"Sounds fine with me." I say acceptingly.
