The trek out of the bunker was steep and dangerous. Tubbo was almost decapitated when he looked over a ravine from a falling boulder up above. When they finally broke the surface, everyone took a moment to bask in the glowing warmth from the sun. They'd camped in the obsidian room for a day or two, tending to their fresh wounds with the sparse first aid kit they had. Tubbo exhaled slowly before turning to look at Wilbur. Their leader signalled for them to trek towards L'manburg.

As they walked, Tubbo couldn't help but feel scared. Yes, they'd all came to an agreement to surrender but what if they didn't accept them? What if they were still killed? Tubbo didn't want to die. But he felt bitter at the thought of giving up all his hard work. He'd given so much for L'manburg to flourish. Maybe he should've given more. It was too late now to think about it.

Tall, black walls could be seen over the horizon. Tubbo's breath caught in his throat when he saw the gaps in the bricks. It finally settled in him. Their base was gone. He looked at Tommy and noticed he was also staring at the walls. He reached across and grabbed his hand. Tommy glanced at him with a bitter smile. Tubbo smiled back when he felt a gentle squeeze. The group trudged onwards.

They followed a dirt path, worn in from the countless times people had walked over it. The monotonous crunches of twigs and bark underfoot accompanied them on their journey. Eventually, they made it back and stood amidst the destruction of their home.

"Wait here," Wilbur said, "I'll be right back."

Tubbo watched as Wilbur walked into the caved-in hot dog van. The front was missing, but the back still stood tall, if a little tilted.
Wilbur emerged moments later, a white flag in his hand. Everyone's eyes were drawn to the silky banner that flopped miserably down at his side. No one said a word as Wilbur walked past them and headed towards the ladder leading up the wall.

In the background outside, four figures emerged from the tree-line. Their shiny purple armour stood out amongst the green. They didn't come any closer though. Just stood there and watched as Wilbur climbed rung after rung.
When Wilbur got to the top, he looked down at the speckles of people, three on his right, four on his left. With a deep sigh, he hoisted the flag into the air and slammed it down in between two black bricks. They splintered apart, giving way to the sharp pole. He stepped back and watched as the wind picked up the fabric.

He climbed back down and stood with his friends, facing out at the four figures. They were walking towards them and soon they could see their expressions through their helmets. A Cheshire grin was plastered across Sapnap's face and George was smirking at them in triumph. Eret was with them and he too was grinning. Dream stood in the front, his smiling mask blocking them from reading him, but his posture was relaxed and his steps were languid.

"Hello Dream, I hope you guys are doing good this fine afternoon," Wilbur spoke out, his smile strained and too light, "We have been at war with each other for a long time. It has gone on for too long in my opinion. L'manburg has put up a good fight though, eh?"

"You could say that." Dream drolled out.

Wilbur could see Tommy take a step forward out of the corner of his eye but was pushed back by Tubbo.

"As you can see Dream, we have put up white flags like you've said. . If you promise not to kill any of us, we surrender."

A pause.

"Oh really?" Dream stepped forward with his head tilted.
Wilbur knew he was smirking.

"I guess that's to be expected."

"Oh, how dare you stupid, idiotic, green bastard-!"

"Tommy! Tommy calm," Wilbur gripped the younger boy's shoulders, "I need you to be calm and composed right now."

Tommy stared into his eyes. While Wilbur agreed with what Tommy said, it would not go over well with the SMP members. They wanted to be spared.

Tommy must've seen the plead in his eyes for his shoulders slumped and he walked back to stand next to Fundy and Tubbo, silent. Wilbur gave him a grateful smile and turned around. Dream was regarding Tommy with something like disappointment before looking at him.

"Your surrender is giving up this land to the SMP?"

"Yes."

"And you won't start a revolution within the SMP?"

"Yes."

"And you must follow my orders and uphold the laws of the SMP?"

"...Yes."

"Very well, then. I accept your surrender."
