"I think its best if you keep your daughter away from the gardens" The Queen says walking into the throne room.
"What did she do this time?" The emperor sighs.
"She plucked a rose from the garden and nearly gouged a maiden's eye out" she explains.
"And what did this maiden do to her that she committed this act?" He asks.
"What did the maiden do? What do you mean what did the maiden do? Velliarh is a child of the black sun she is violent, reckless and a danger to us all" she says frustrated.
"What do you expect me to do?!" He sighs pinching the bridge of his nose. "Nilfgaard has enough problems already"
"She is the problem! Bring Stregobor here. Let him deal with her the way he dealt with those other girls"
"Stregobor is killing them. Experimenting. Is that what you want for her? She will stay here. As she does always..never to leave" he orders.
"Then what? Do we have to sleep with knives under our pillows? Or maybe order dozens of guards outside our chambers. She is a threat that's it"
"She is also the heir to the throne. What will happen when I die? Nilfgaard will go into someone else's hands someone who doesn't even know how to handle a kingdom" he explains, voice laced with frustration.
"She's a psychopath"
"A smart and powerful one in fact. Exactly what Nilfgaard needs"
"And what about Vella? Once the eldest born is gone she will have all right to Nilfgaard, which is why Velliarh should go" she pleads.
"Vella can't and won't. This is the end of this topic. Don't question me more" he warns.
"Fine" she bows. "Keep her away from the training rooms, I do not want any other episodes from her" she says before walking away, leaving the emperor very confused on what to do with his daughter.

•Velliarh's POV
I aimlessly walk around in the garden, I don't usually do this but since I was kicked out of the weaponry room I had nothing else to do. Its very calming to watch the trees rustle in the wind and the smell of the blossoms fills the cold winter breeze. I turn around quickly when I hear what sounded like crying. I see a women firmly grasping a child's arm and she looks very angry, I can tell by the way her hair is out of place, while the little boy who looks like he's around 6,has tears running down his cheeks and it repeating the word sorry over and over again.
I know I shouldn't get involved. I know it. She's just disciplining him right?
"This is the last time! I've had enough of your nonsense! I'll send you into the woods" she says angrily.
I guess not.
"No..I'm sorry! It wasn't my..my f-fault.." He cries.
"Shut up! Let's see how you handle yourself out there" she says about to drag him into the woods when I interrupt.
"Hey..let the kid go" I say.
"This isn't your problem!" She says through gritted teeth.
"It is when you're trying to kill an innocent child"
"Innocent? Oh really?" She scoffs.
"I don't think any act he could've committed that would make the punishment death"
"P-please..help..me" he says, wiping his tears away.
"Let him go" I say firmly.
"No! This isn't any business of a cursed princess" she says.
Now she's pissing me off. I pull the boy away from her.
"How dare you!" She shouts and grabs my arm.
"Ma'am. You have 0.5 seconds to let go of my arm" I warn.
"Or what?" She smirks evilly.
I try to hold back my frustration and anger as it builds. But no matter how hard I try I never could. I use my other hand to grab a rose that had sharp and thick thorns. Ignoring the pain in my hand I aim for her eye but she moves resulting in the thorns scratching the side of her face. She backs up in pain and covers her face with her hands as she runs away.
I turn back but I don't see the boy, that's until I hear a feint sound of crying.
I follow the sound to find him sitting behind a water fountain.
"Hey..she's gone now" I say, kneeling to his level.
"You sure?" He chokes out.
"Yeah..who was she?" I ask.
"My..aunt..after my parents died I was sent to her" he explains.
"I don't think that was a good idea" I sigh. "Okay...so if you walk down there" I say pointing down the path. "You'll find a couple of guards there. Tell them I said, to find you a good home"
He nods and stands up. "Thank you"
"No problem" I smile getting up.
*couple minutes later *
I wrap a piece of material around my hand to stop the bleeding. Just then someone walks in and I immediately put my hand behind my back.
"Its just me" Vella says. "And I know what happened"
"Oh" I sigh.
"So..trying to gouge maidens eyes out now huh?" She says shaking her head.
"I was protecting that kid. She was going to send him to die, what's a cut.. to save someone's life" I say.
"Yeah whatever. But she complained about you. Velliarh, you know that mother wants you to leave and you're doing this" she sighs.
"Mother always wanted me gone"
"She's trying..to fix your problem for 17 years, Velliarh"
"My 'problem' can't be fixed. Is it my fault I was born during the black sun?" I say, sitting on my bed.
"No..but you know how they are. Don't you want to be Queen?" She asks.
"No"
"What? Really?" She asks shocked.
"I'd rather pose on the side" I say.
"Tell that to father" she laughs.
"Trust me. They'd rather go have a boy than make me Queen" I say.
"You don't know that"
I sigh "You should go before they come here to shout at me"
"Good luck" she says sadly and leaves.
'They won't understand why I did it. They're just gonna blame me again. All because I'm cursed, I'm already at a disadvantage' I think.
