Nini groans as she sits on the couch, scrolling through her instagram. everybody was talking about the album, which was great! don't get her wrong, any publicity is good publicity but it just got annoying that everyone was talking about her relationship with Ricky.
the front door to her apartment opened before someone stepped in, shutting it quickly behind them.
"nobody saw you did they?" she called out from the couch.
"no angel, nobody saw me," he says as he drops to the couch next to her, kissing her temple, "we're all good."
Nini hums contently as she leans into the guys chest, his arm wrapping around her shoulder, "what're you looking at?" he asks.
she tilts her phone for him to see, "instagram. everyone loves the album."
"good, cause it's written about you." he says as he drops his hand to her waist, tickling her lightly.
"Ricky! stop!" she says through her giggles as she moves in his arms.
he pulls her against him, smiling as he rubs his nose against hers, "i love you."
"i love you too." Nini says before leaning in a pressing a sweet kiss to his lips.
she chuckles as he pouts when she stands up, "don't make that face at me, now what do you want for dinner. i can cook or we can order in?" she says as she walks away into the kitchen.
they knew that their relationship was unprofessional but to be fair, it started before he was even famous. Ricky and Nini met their freshman year of high school in drama class. Nini was an avid theatre lover while Ricky just took the class to get his elective credit. their teacher paired them together for a scene and the rest was history. they were friends for only a few months before starting to date, realizing they had too much chemistry to stay friends. they dated all the way through high school, continuing to do theatre together and write music in their bedrooms after school.
when they graduated and Ricky decided to move to LA to pursue his music career, Nini obvious jumped at the opportunity to go with him. while she always thought she'd go to college, things change when you're in love. at first they moved into a tiny apartment together in downtown LA. Nini was working as a waitress and Ricky was working at a record store by day and playing gigs at night in local bars, which Nini always came to. when he was approached by a label executive at only 19 after one of his gigs, he agreed to come in for a meeting and play his demo for the CEO. that's how he landed his record deal. at 19, Ricky began professionally recording music and seriously writing his first album. he had some songs that he'd written in high school for Nini and decided to base the album around her and those songs.
