The boy exited the field, waving goodbye to his teammates for the last time. The field had cleared shortly before the tan boy made his decision. He pushed past the gate, his face streaming with tears. "I can't do this anymore" he thought to himself.

He slams his car door shut and starts the ignition. Pulling out of the stadium, he thinks of all the possible things that could happen if he went through with his plan. "Well," he thinks, "either everyone will mourn me, or celebrate my death." The city lights shine bright, distracting him. "I'm going to miss this."

He rolls the window down and lets the breeze hit his face. The cold wind gives him the strength he thinks he needs, and he turns the car around, going the opposite way of his house.

He drives miles and miles, before spotting the old broken bridge. He glances at the time and sees that it's five o'clock in the morning. The sun peeks from the horizon. Its colors of pink, purple and blue look like cotton candy, his favorite. He shuts the car down and sits in silence.

The blonde boys face flashes in his mind, his eyes the color of the sea. He could get lost in them forever. "He won't miss me, I'm sure of it. He will find someone else sooner or later."

"We'll be best friends forever, don't you worry about it!" The memory of his best friend and him, their cheesy little grins as they stuck a piece of gum in greenbean's hair. He smiles at the memory and longs to tell the two of them just how much they mean to him.

But he can't. If he did, he knows he will never get his chance of freedom if he does. The young man steps out of the car, leaving his memories and belongings with it. Every step down the crumbling stone has his heart beating faster and faster, until he can no longer think.

He stops walking and stares over the edge. "This is it" he thinks. He holds his arms out like the free bird he's yearned to be for so long. He smiles,

And Falls.
